Yay! Bookings are good! :) How long are you staying? How long is your flight altogether? Mine is normally a 12-hour trip... Omaha to Chicago to Heathrow. I like to arrive at 6am. :) Ian likes that, too, since he normally has to drive an hour to get to the airport. hehe

Have fun!

It's about twenty hours of flying time and about 36 hours of traveling, but it will be worth it :) Lamine has to drive 2 hours to get to the airport as well. Oh well. I'm going to be there for one week and will have about 4 days of traveling. At least labor day weekend is in there, so that's one day of vacation that I can save. It doesn't seem real that I'm really going to see him again.

endoftheroad-I'm so sorry your fiancee is sick :( Hope she feels better soon.

Guys, I really hope everyone starts seeing more progress!

I booked my plane tickets yesterday. I leave September 2 and will arrive in Dakar 4:05 a.m. on September 4 :) I hope I can get some work done this week. I feel like I'm falling behind  For right now, though, I'm eating junk food and watching When Harry Met Sally.

Thanks attaya. I want to come out and meet you two when you get back. My girls (both) are feeling sick - depressed - from all that has happened to them in the last few months. My girl [with 2 university degrees, homeowner, etc.] said to me last night, "I want to sleep all the time because I open my eyes and see no good." Breaks my heart because remember, I am supposed to be there now.

I am so happy you have your tickets booked. Leaving Labor Dayish. You are strong, you are tall, you can be the rock. Watch and listen to "I'm Fine" (especially the last verse). You are fine.

(F) So sorry. I really hope that things start to look up for them and for all of you.

I hope everyone has a good day and a fantastic week. I hope this is the week that SS gets his NOA2 and that Lisa, Allie, endoftheroad and everyone else finally breaks out of NVC or clearance delays. Good luck, you guys.

In the last six months it has been taking 1-2 months to clear and the interview usually happens within a month after that. So we decided to wait until the interview for me to come. Can't afford two trips in three months. Still hoping for a USA wedding on 11/9, one year after our ceremonial wedding in 2008.

I have to keep this stuff for my book (now at 300 pages.... don't worry, you all are in it already).

NOA2 recap:

- Filed an address change

- Found out I got NOA2 by calling (a month after the address change filing) to make sure my address was correct in their system

- Never got the NOA2 letter or email

- Got a letter that said the NOA2 letter was returned as undeliverable

- Called to ask for the NOA2 letter

- Called again to ask for the NOA2 letter

- Got a letter with a referral ID saying that I have the NOA2 if I wanted a NOA2 letter I would have to apply for one ($300+) or file an appeal

- Got the NOA2 email saying I would get an NOA2 letter

Today I got a letter with a different referral ID saying that I will be sent the NOA2 letter within 10 days.

It is all so pencil-pusher.

Stay strong, End Of The Road...

That is quite a story...You both were meant for each other, and I am sure you will never leave each others sight when your family is reunited once your K-1 is granted. Just hang in there...
