Got the letter date August 20th, saying "The NVC has received an approved i-129f filed behalf of your fiance..bla bla bla...This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa issuing post where your visa interview will take place. Then it has Nigel's name and our INS receipt number.... then case number...."

Do you think this still means we're in AP like the first young man I spoke to August 14th? This is way too exiting now!

Heeeelp!

Who knows...................Ian and Lisa said they got the same letter and they're still waiting for it to be sent out to London. Sooo, i donno. I'm also thinking cause there's a case number now, maybe with the case number we can book a medical with it. I wonder if thats what everyone else is doing....i'm so confused and part of me says this is a normal process, they would have told me by paper if they are doing "additional processing", i also read on VJ that the term "additional processing" is normal and "Administrative processing" is the more in depth thing they do and takes a bit longer, I have NO idea. Another part of me is to just go with it like what it says "within a week" sent off to London and whatever after that is whatever....I dont want to think that i'm gonna wait weeks and weeks like Ian and Lisa....i really dont. Soooo, still the waiting....and watching....

I never got that letter and my petition has already left for the consulate. I am still hoping the status email I got this week means they are really going to send me an NOA2 letter so I don't have to fork out the $300+ fee for a new one.

And dangnabit! I forgot my daily DOS call until it was too late on Thursday and Friday. Now 16 days in "clearance delay" at Guangzhou, sick fiancee, yadda yadda.

Hope everyone can think of the good things on this Saturday night! (no more coffee for allie! )

Lisa and Ian don't want to wait weeks and weeks, either, but so far, what we want hasn't counted for much. :hehe:

You know, by now, how bad the immigration offices are at communicating. People get updates or no updates on websites, emails or no emails about approval... lost NOA2's... lost applications on the way to NVC.

I have the same letter you have. I asked the same question about the medical in the London thread, but they said to wait for packet 3. If your medical info gets to London before London has your case, then what?

I've seen people try to send their packet 3 paperwork to London even without getting out of NVC, and London sends it back. So don't do that, either.

-We have been told all along that we are in additional processing.

Ken got the letter about stuff being shipped to the embassy. I'm sure he'd share the text of it with us..

Dear Petitioner:

The State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance. This letter is to let you know that within a week (8/17) the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place. Our records show that you filed the I-129F petition for: Leidys......Your fiance will soon receive a packet with instructions from the consular section on how to apply for the K1 visa at that post and what documents will be required. In the meantime, you should visit the Department of State's website at:....to determine if the processing post has any information of which you should be immediately aware.

Sincerely,

Bureau of Consular Affairs

Hope this helps everyone...

-Ken

Same letter, then, only normally they really mean it when they say it'll be sent off within 7 days.

endoftheroad-I'm so sorry your fiancee is sick :( Hope she feels better soon.

Guys, I really hope everyone starts seeing more progress!

I booked my plane tickets yesterday. I leave September 2 and will arrive in Dakar 4:05 a.m. on September 4 :) I hope I can get some work done this week. I feel like I'm falling behind  For right now, though, I'm eating junk food and watching When Harry Met Sally.

Yay! Bookings are good! :) How long are you staying? How long is your flight altogether? Mine is normally a 12-hour trip... Omaha to Chicago to Heathrow. I like to arrive at 6am. :) Ian likes that, too, since he normally has to drive an hour to get to the airport. hehe

Have fun!
