Haven't thought about when to get married yet. I just want him in the country first. Plus most likely it'll be small. A few friends, a cake, some champagne. Done. We want to have the BIG wedding in Africa.

we are doing the same thing, we just said we'll get married in california just as soon as they approve us, then have a big wedding back home in Australia, I've seen some really nice places on the Sunny coast for a beach wedding.

Hey Everyone.

My fiancé hasn't received anything in the mail yet, but I was able to pull our case number off the image from the back of the cheque. lol So, I created an account on the USCIS website and according to that, they mailed us our NOA1 on May 6th :D

Hurrah! Tiny progress! lol

NOA1 Received today with a date of April 22nd. Should I put todays date in as NOA1 or the actual date on my NOA1 for the purpose of my timeline?

I think I would put the actual NOA1 date of April 22nd. Not 100% sure though

You ARE 100% right! It's the date on the NOA1 itself, not the date you receive the hardcopy. :)

Try Oceano Dunes SVRA south of Pismo Beach, CA. You'll want to stick to the north side of the park - your wedding party can park their vehicles and you'll have facilities and not too large of crowds. The place is magical and you can return there on your anniversary - or just to rent quads!!

A bit of a set back for us, fiancé forgot to sign one form so they sent it all back :(

But it's all arranged like they went through it all so I hope it won't delay us too much.

I didn't ask which paper he forgot to sign.

He feels so bad about it, I tried not to dwell on it too much.

Thank you for the encouraging words :)

Get the receipt number from your NOA1 or the back of your cashed check, and go here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp to sign up for an account and track your progress. Note, the progress moving bit is not quick. It will show "pending" most of the time it's with USCIS.

If you don't have your receipt number, then you won't be able to track it until you get one (or maybe call USCIS). They take phone calls for these issues: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0000ecd190aRCRD

Good luck!

Did you get a mail tracking receipt to know when they actually received it? I'm going to guess they got it around the 27-28th depending on what sort of mail you used (priority mail or regular, etc). You should (guessing) receive something maybe Friday, or by mid-week next week. But don't be discouraged if you don't! You never can tell with these guys

Was reading that the CSC was diverted from our visa work to process a bunch of worker visas, could be why those later in April took longer to process. They are back on the case now. CSC is still faster than VSC.

moving right along
