Wow...that's alot of injections if you haven't had them. My biggest phobia of all....can't STAND needles.

Well today is day 24 with still no NVC receive. After talking with the operator at the NVC and her telling me that nothing can be done till 90 days has passed, I decided that it can hurt nothing to have my comgresswoman inquire, especially since her office is only 2 miles away from my work. NVC says CSC has not sent it, but most people here say their file is usually at NVC...just misplaced. Hopefully I will find something out.

Question-I've come across some conflicting information on VJ about this-does a K-1 beneficiary need to get vaccinations prior to the interview/POE? Is it country specific? I wanted to give Lamine a warning before he goes in and has to get sixteen shots or something absurd like that.

Stick with the surprise theme! :D

hahaha! Very nice! Poor guy's so nervous, it might not be a bad idea to keep that from him!

Seriously, he has to have the shots (if any) so why bug him out with a warning? My girls HAAAAAATE shots so I just told them they have to do the "medical thing" for the visa, it's something they HAVE to do. They accept that (I did not mention a ton of shots but I did say immunizations). Once the nurse says they need the shots, what can they do? I did tell her to collect all the medical records she could so the doc would know their record.

I'm more or less doing that-I told him that he had to get a "couple vaccinations." He's told me multiple times that he wants to know exactly what's going to happen at every juncture. We've been breaking it down into small, easy to reach goals, though. He's just going to have to travel all over Dakar for all the tests, etc, but I've been comparing it to the time that I was really sick in Dakar and he tagged along with me to four different clinics for various tests. I think having that comparison has been really helpful. "It's going to be just like that one time...."

I thankfully have every single required shot, except the dreaded Gardasil.

And I looked it up myself.

My fiance doesn't seem to want to do much with the waiting and the process. He says it confuses him, alot.

It's funny you should say that endoftheroad and ataya, I'm the benficiary but I've been breaking it down for my US petitioner. Telling him we just need to make it to the NOA2 then it's basically done, then just need to get out of the NVC we're almost there... and so on and so forth. He's pretty much clueless about the whole process I just tell him where to sign and where to show up. It works well for both of us since I'm kind of a control freak.

My four year old daughter had to get 6 shots over three different appointments and then one more next Tuesday. She's a real tropper doesn't even flinch just keeps her eye on the sticker box and reminds the nurses that she should get a sticker for every shot not just one.

I'm with Rhiann and Jauque... I've looked up all the information myself. I'm the beneficiary, and I need to know what I need to do, and like to get things out of the way when I can before the pile up too much. lol I've already got my police cert and my long form birth cert ready to go, and I've updated most of my vaccines already (including getting my cat's vaccines updated!!). I just need to get the bloodwork done to see if I need the chicken pox one (which is annoying, because I have to pay for it if I do.. argh). Thankfully, I'm too old for Gardasil. lol If the situation had been that my petitioner fiancé was the one looking up the info himself, I'm not sure he would've told me all those details  But he knows me, and knows I need to know, so I'd like to think he would have. He's knowledgeable about the process as well, and some of that is his own research, and some of that is mine.

Allie, I said it before, but I'll say again: yay!!! lol :D

Yeah, I'm wondering when I should call them again to check on it. We last called on Friday, to confirm the address change, and they hadn't sent it then. I was thinking I'd give them a break today and not call.

Whoops. Turns out I don't have all my shots. I need a booster shot for my Tetanus Diphtheria Pertussis shots.

Haven't had one since 1996, haha.

Well to be honest, we dont have to have the shots done till the foreign one gets to the USA and files adjust of status. So to go on the rampage and get shots done, unless its free of course abroad, why bother until you get to the USA and do it here? I donnooooo.........course I like the free part if it is...however here in Arizona, there's shot clinic's all over the place.....

I have a strong feeling that the cost of the shots will be a lot cheaper in the UK, like China, than in the USA.

And knowing these Chinese women, they will insist on getting them done in China to save money. I have mentioned before that they are the most frugal types I have ever met?
