That dress is crazy! I would not want to wear that. Guess it's a sweet gesture, though.

I have finished getting my apartment cleaned up and ready for him. He has his side of the closet, his own drawer space, his own toothbrush, etc, etc. I need to get him a razor....

The rest will have to wait until he gets here--shoes, socks, etc.

I can NOT believe this is actually happening. I know we still need to finish up with the medical and everything, but oh my goodness! This is the scary part-the part where I'm not sure how all of this is going to happen....Is he going to get packet 3 in the mail or can he pick it up? Does he bring it with him to the interview or does he mail it back? It will all fall into place, but everything up to now has been so straight forward thanks to VJ....

Mr Zhao's mother appeared less impressed. "It is a waste of money in my opinion"

Gotta love the frugal Chinese woman!

Twilight Zone Moment brought to you by USCIS ...

You may remember that I changed my address around June 1 with USCIS and received a mailing confirming the info.

You may also remember that when I called in to them on July 27 to make sure they had my address correct (they did) they told me that my petition was approved July 16. I told them I did not receive the NOA2 email or hard copy. They told me they would remail the NOA2 hard copy (I have the reference number).

A couple days ago I received a letter from USCIS dated July 29 that said they had updated my address (which they previously said was correct on the phone).

Today I received this email from USCIS:

So I called them up and got another remail reference number! They said it was probably my NOA2 hard copy.

I wonder how many NOA2 hard copies I will receive?

Sometimes I think they just like messing with people's minds. ;)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO THAT WAS YOURS, CONGRATS!

I looked at the timelines link and saw only one case for the Senegal from VJ, that must be you too.

That was me :D Woot woot! And, Senegal only has a nine day waiting period for interviews--just enough time for me to get a plane ticket and get myself over there! Hoping to be there in 3 weeks :)

Cool! Congrats!

You avoided the fancy AP bin. Always a bonus.

... Is he going to get packet 3 in the mail or can he pick it up? Does he bring it with him to the interview or does he mail it back?

He will get the P3 in the mail once the Consulate receives the petition and he will mail it back. He can also print it out (if available) from the Consulate website and mail it in. The P4 (should also be available for print out on the website) will let him know what to bring to the interview etc.

Senegal does not have the information on the website and they used to just have you bring the paperwork in with you to the embassy. Not sure if it's still that way. They also don't have a packet four. That's why I'm nervous--Senegal just doesn't follow the model most countries do. I've heard of people in the past who have picked the paperwork up from the embassy, but I'm not sure....

So excited to get off of work today....
