Your ticker in your signature needs to learn how to count:

2 months 4 weeks and 2 days... so shouldn't it be like 3 months and 2 days now?

My fiance has bought flowers in the past for me, I think if they are bought too often like for birthday, anniversary, etc. every milestone then the gesture and appreciation for them wear off. I do think for special occasions like an anniversary or if they just feel like being a romantic its okay, but again bringing flower home once a month or sending them loses its wow factor. I love red roses are thats what I have received from him every time, haha if you haven't noticed my avatar, I am using red roses in my wedding for bouquets, centerpieces, bridal party flowers and silk petals for table confetti.

Telling this story about the first time I received flowers from him is gonna make me tear up...so bear with me...He was deployed at the time, for 4 mos and this was in the beginning of our relationship back when I lived in the US, I was on summer break so I was back in Canada working, one morning I received a beautiful flower arrangment with a little note that said "Reminding you that love stretches ten thousand miles." Later on after his arrival, I think around our 1 year anniversary we got matching necklaces that had a picture of us on 1 side, from the day he arrived back to the USA and the other had engraved what was written on that note card plus our names. Aw, that's cute. My fiance's too dense to do romantic things.

He claims he doesn't know how.

I've always had to remind him about things like my birthday and actually end up telling him what I want.

I'd love a surprise, even once.

I just even want to see a fellow May 09 filer get an approval.

I'm sure many others do too in the May thread.

I have finally given up hope that James will magically have his interview while I am in there September

That's probably a sane idea. :D

Aw, that's cute. ... I'd love a surprise, even once.

I surprise my love with 99 roses on our ceremonial wedding day and you say that is so much a waste of money that you would hurt your guy if he did it, but you'd "love a surprise"????

Am I missing something? ???????

Yes it's exactly 2 weeks now (we also got our NOA2 on July 23rd), and NVC did not receive it yet. I am also going to visit my fiance in September! Still have a little tiny hope he will have his interview at that time. We'll see...

I got my NOA2 the day before you and I just got confirmation about my petiition today. If you call tomorrow, maybe you'll hear something. I'll cross my fingers for you :)

endoftheroad-you're right. it's the thought that counts. Flowers are beautiful. I was feeling especially argumentative earlier today  Tough day at work. I swear I'll lighten up when I get to see Lamine again. Ugh. Don't know why the hell I felt like arguing about flowers --of all things. True, I've never received them from someone I cared about, but if Lamine gave my flowers, I'd be happy just because he thought about me.

Also-I've eaten three burritos today, and they were all AMAZING.

Thank you :) Are you planning to go to Lamine's interview?

Oh and one funny thing today: when I was driving home, I saw a car with a license plate "usaid no" I wonder what the question was.

A burrito sounds delicious! And attaya_girl, apparently even when you are being "argumentative" you are always extremely nice and tactful!

I'm not too bummed out about his interview being after I go to London, I just thought it would be really special if I could be there for it. Fortunately it shouldn't affect the outcome! We can just cross our fingers that they don't forget about us, stlouis :) at least our noa2s have arrived

As far as flowers go, I once got 3 dozen roses from a guy I played an online game with. Unfortunately, they arrived the day of my sister's wedding and EVERYONE asked who they were from and I had to explain. I think they had the opposite effect the guy hoped they'd have ;) On the flip side, when James gave me roses and balloons when he thought he wouldn't be there for Valentines day, I was overjoyed! He walked to the store through the snow while I was at work and had everything waiting for me when I got home, he was so proud! I think I was touched more by the gesture and the thought behind it than I was by the flowers, but they were beautiful nonetheless :)
