SS, I hope your NOA2 comes soon! I'll put a lot of little smiley faces with my congratulations when that day comes :)

Ummmm. Regarding expensive phone calls--Is NVC especially expensive to call??? Oh god, I hope not.

Lisa-that is so cute that you guys met through blogging :) How did you end of finding one another's blogs?

I met Lamine while I was studying/interning abroad in Dakar. He was working at the University where I was studying, and we locked eyes the first day I was there. Later that night we ended up talking for hours (and had a political debate)and it just stuck....we started a few weeks later. :)

Just long distance charges, from Canada it's like 35 cents a minute and I'm sure I spent at least 3 hours on the phone waiting...

No, this is shipment from NVC to the various embassies. This is what I've been checking, because I want to see what packets are going to London. It's kind of interesting to me to see what is going where (it gives me something to do!)

"Once you know the date NVC sent off the file, track it at DHL's website: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef For the reference code, enter EXP 04 AUG 2009A (adjust using dates around the date NVC told you), with a shipping range of that day to a few days later (Aug 4 - Aug 5 worked for the example above). Look for shipments to your beneficiary's embassy."

Shouldn't be bad from the US. Depending on your LD plan... 10 cents a minute?

I just happened upon Ian's blog via a friend of a friend.... completely by accident. :)

You have a sweet story there. Very cool!

hahaha-- endoftheroad--wouldn't that be nice? For once, to have USCIS or NVC make a clear, itemized list of all approvals of the day, petitions in and out of AP, etc....That would be AMAZING!

Yeah... why does it have to be such a maze?

Where is everyone????

Good morning!!!

NVC received my case yesterday evening!!!!! Woot Woot! I want it to leave NVC now so that I can get over to Senegal and see that boy again! I'm just going to miss our anniversary, but that's ok. Oh my goodness!!!! I can't believe this is really happening. I'm hoping I don't reach the 9 month mark before I get to see him again.

Damn. Just saw that a Senegal K-3 was put in AP..... Don't know what I'll do if that happens. I don't know if I could get back on the plane without Lamine.....

But K-3's are different than K-1's, and I know we have a good case. Just starting to get scared of the Dakar embassy.
