I got a touch today!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Great!

I'd start doing the daily 1-800-375-5283 workouts if I were you. No telling if you'll get an email notification. "Hello, my USCIS receipt number is xxxxxxxxxx and I need to know the date my petition was approved and if it has been sent to National Visa Center yet."

Yes big time...........i'm just waiting till they send me a hard copy! Isnt it mostly with everyone, a few days after a touch they get something in the mail? We'll see! This is the first bit of progress since we mailed it late April! I am pleased as punch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sent like 3 texts to Nigel already hehehe..........phoned mom.....woke the kid up from my screeching! LOL...

No, not always. Doesn't hurt to call (it's toll free). I bet you have been approved already.

I'm going nuts right now listening to a lawyer brag about how his "beautiful, blue-eyed, blond haired, tall Canadian girlfriend" is related to a celebrity so they gave her an O-1 visa and they just let her stay in the country. It's kind of discouraging to hear about other people walking through the system based on loose connections!

That's craziness, that lawyer should be giving advice on how to side step the system.

I did figure out my tracking thing, my package got to Vancouver about 2 hours ago. I'm currently on hold with the DoS seeing if its been processed yet so I can fax my stuff. The DoS doesn't have music playing while your on hold, I miss the NVC hold line.

And yipee Allie&Nigel!!!!

If you follow the prompts for the RFE or the Adress Change than you can talk to a live person. They will know if they've mailed you anything.

EDIT: I just realized that with all the time I've taken up calling the USCIS/NVC and now harassing the consulate and the DoS the government has likely had to spend our 455 just paying people to talk to me.

Yes, but you'll get a nice phone bill to remind you you're still adding to the fund. :)

Still AP, but it's only been 7 days @ the NVC. Hurry up, Allie, so you can sit in the NVC and hopefully get out bunches faster! :)

BTW, I got approval online 3 days after my 7/17 touch. I hope that's it!!

Good point, very good point. I'd almost forgotten to be afraid. I've been staying with parents since february and henceforth using their house phone, so I should not forget to be afraid, to be very afraid.

I received my letter from NVC today saying they received our case and it will be sent out to the embassy within 7 days (not necessary the case... it's their standard language).

Just to recap:

NOA2 (CA) - July 20

NVC arrival (CA to NH) - July 29

NVC letter received (NH to NE) - Aug 5

I thought that might be interesting for people with earlier approvals who haven't had their case received yet. Hopefully USCIS has a way of tracking the shipment to the NVC, or maybe they have stacks they're sorting through and things are just out of order.

I called and talked to a person about an address change under the guise of checking whether they had my correct address. That's when I popped the NOA2 question. I have still not received an email, the USCIS site still has my case as pending, and I have received nothing in the mail. :star:

Did you call USCIS just to ensure there is another person there who says you have been sent your NOA2? They were doing quite well with updates on the site for awhile, but that seems to be slacking off some.

I believe I had my physical copy within a week of getting the email.

Oh my goodness, I just had a sudden panic attack that maybe NVC already received my info and sent it to the Dakar embassy and now I don't have my case number....I know that that is sooo unlikely, but do they send you a letter as well? I just got to thinking about those of you who said that a package was sent to Dakar and suddenly worried that maybe that was us....I know I'm ridiculous.

There was another one shipped to Dakar today, so I don't think it's as rare as we think. :) How did you meet Lamine? Have you told us this story? I'm just curious. :)

Ian and I met while blogging... One day I commented on something he wrote and we couldn't stop emailing. :)
