Maybe I'll wear a nice green dress... but not a real green dress that's cruel.

Hehe, nice song reference there

I love that song.

No... I'm still at NOA1 stage. And, as aforementioned, I can't find this birth cert info... :ranting: I was hoping to have it sent off before I left and was going to do it either tonight or tomorrow, but I moved last weekend, and have since lost it. At least then I could've felt like I was making progress.

Cool... I didn't know we had this :ranting: emoticon.

Ash - I completely forgot you were at NOA1. Here's hoping we all make it a step forward this week. I'm sure you'll find the bc or have time to get a new one. I'm still waiting on tax transcripts, a decent letter from my bank and Ian's police report.. not there yet.

Jauque - I may be walking into the courthouse in my long dress. It's a jcrew, so pretty versatile (plus, you should wear what you want. It's your day!)

Attaya - Next stop, Dunkin Donuts. Oh, I guess that might be vegan. "No animals were harmed in the making of this donut."

Allie - I'm totally with you today. I'll meet you in Chicago. We'll fly to Heathrow, ok? I'm going to start playing the lottery!

Cheers!

I found it!! HAH! Seriously looked in a LOT of 'logical' places that I would have put it, but didn't come across it. But then started looking through them again, and it was tucked in behind some stuff. LOL :bonk:

soooo glad I didn't call my mom yet! lol

And good points Danu. :) I think if I got the NOA2 while I was there, it'd be perfect timing.

Allie, that's a great deal on a dress! Mine, as simple as it is, is still $425.. I couldn't convince her to give me a sales price, so that's the regular price, which I guess is still pretty good. I'm hoping I won't need many alterations... Would like to keep that to under $100, then I'd be happy.

If I had a million dollars I wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner, but I WOULD eat Kraft Dinner... mmmm.... I'd just eat more.

WOOHOO!:dance::dance: your dress is still beautiful, and $425 really isnt all that bad for something that gorgeous. The one I tried on and fell in love with is from Private Label, and was just over $1k....so I put it back on the rack and will be looking once I get down there  The ones I have been looking at are fairly similar, with the beautiful overlays. One of the ones I want to try on is kind of a cross between your dress and minnews, so we shall see. I cant wait to see your dress all fitted and such!

Speaking of wedding dress prices, is under 600 too much for a designer name brand dress?

I don't even have an exact price for mine, but I Know it's under 600.

My mom just seems to be iffy, so I'm wondering if 600 really is too much.

As far as I know, that includes alterations, since you have to send away your size measurements and they make it for you.

Depends on the designer and the dress really, as well as what you are comfortable on paying. I have a little higher budget on my dress and cut out some other things because I've always dreamed of my dress and I've found that due to my chest size its hard to find a dress that sits properly thats under 500. I have only 2 on my whole list that are under 5, everything else is between 5-800, and its hard to say I will go with the 500 dollar one because I'm not sure how it will look on me. Now that being said, his grandmother offered us a little bit of money, which is paying for my dress. Its really about what you love, what you want to pay, and what you are willing to pay for your dress. $600 for a designer dress sounds like a good deal to me, but it also depends on the beading and such thats on it.

A general rule when looking at dresses is the nicer the material, the more intricate the beading/embroidery is (having pre-made beading patches on the dress as opposed to being stitched right into the fabric), the amount of beading/embroidery, and what its made of will all increase the cost of the dress.

What kind of ring are we guys going to get from you girls? Ya know, we get a ring too, right? What are you going to get your guy?

My ex-wife bought me a braided white gold wedding band that I will have melted down, and redesigned.

My question was for the women here. You are going to melt down your prior wedding ring for this marriage? Is Leidys cool with that? Maybe wait until she can get you a ring later. I did that with my prior marriage. Makes it more binding if you know what I mean. Do you think she will feel that your old marriage is on your finger and not the one she has with you?

Those are some very good questions. Maybe, I'll just melt down the old ring and wear it on my right hand instead. I can probably find something really original down in Colombia, and I can take the old one with me and trade it in - since its' white gold. I've never gotten remarried, so this is all new territory for me. Thanks for the insight, though. YOU DA MAN!!:thumbs:

I don't think it's too much, especially if it includes alterations, and is a brand name. My budget was originally $300-400, but I'm going to end up paying a bit more than that when all is said and done. :)

Ah alfred, thats who I'm looking at too! Their dresses don't include the prices of alterations. They generally order you a size thats closest to your measurements and then you have to get it tailored. That dress is stunning though, one of the ones I had my eye on but decided the color across the bust looks HORRID on me!! I think his dresses are worth it, and that one may be less than $600 as well, as the guide goes by up to's...that one is in the under $599 category, so who knows...could be about $400! The other thing with Alfred hon is that they have a sale on right now, up to $300 off, but if you don't get a dress while their sales are on, they have their make your own coupon, which can get you $100 off!! (sign up with them seriously, its the best thing you will ever do to get info about their sales and coupons)

Are Canadians eligible for the coupons?

Because that'd be amazing.

And I like the first dress, the beading is really nice.

Hmm...probably not. I suppose that would put a damper on things if you are buying it up here instead of in the states.

As for the dresses...I KNOW! omg, let me get you the links so you can see tha backs. I love them both to pieces!!

http://www.alfredangeloca.com/Collections/...aspx?style=1123

http://www.alfredangeloca.com/Collections/...aspx?style=2018

I have a few others I'm dying to try on as well but these 2 are my top contestants!

When is the wedding planned again Rhi? Alfred's stores say they can get you a dress in like 4-6 months so if its like mid-year next year and you get there in November/December you could still do it!

I'm planning on getting it in the US... if my parents cooperate with everything, since they said they'd pay for it.

Who knows anymore

Lol well then no issue. Doesn't matter if you live in the states if you are buying it in the states! I have heard from some girls that some Alfred's stores can charge an arm and a leg for alterations, so I would check to see if theres a good seamstress around you just incase. Its what I'm planning to do, get a quote from there and then check around. - Just so you know.
