Hey All, Just thought I'd post this link because I found it very helpful. And it definitely gave me a clear answer when people on VJ unfortunately did not (a rare thing indeed).

Anyways, it's regarding getting a new SS Card after you are now eligible to work. ie. removing the 'Not Valid without DHS Authorization'

http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/ssa.cf...php?p_faqid=394

Hope this can help someone out there. :)

The card without the notation can be acquired using a green-card, and you should report status change from green-card holder to citizen to SSA later when you naturalize.

If you use a K-3 to enter the USA the will NOT issue a SSN card.

If you use a CR-1 visa to enter the USA, they MAY issues SSN, but if they fail to issue one, you can visit SSA office and show the I-551 stamp in passport and order a card.

Since your signature indicates you have filed DS-230 packet to NVC, then peruse the CR-1/IR-1 visa process, perhaps get K-3 interview re-scheduled to allow the I-130 packet to catch up to the K-3. If you follow the K-3 course you will be wasting $470 paid to NVC and will pay another $1010 to adjust status.
