Returning Packet 3

We sent Packet 3 back (the forms with the checklist) on March 19th, haven't heard anything from them yet.

I'm worried a little seeing as it says to send the forms back ASAP or there may be problems.

I tried calling the switchboard but got the American voice-message droning on for minutes about other numbers to call, didn't tell me anything about my situation.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to send the interview date? Or know of an efficient number to call to find the status of your case?

Try ringing DoS on 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0 to get an operator. Both the petitioner and beneficiary can ring (I used to ring daily via skype). Bear in mind that it can sometimes take up to 2 weeks for London Embassy to put on their system that they have received your packet 3. As soon as they assign an interview date the people at DoS will be able to see it.

They are generally very helpful within the limits of the information they have available to them and it works out a lot cheaper than ringing the embassy visa helpline at its extortionate rate.

give then a little time before you start worrying that something has gone wrong. i calmed myself by calling the DOS and checking for updates.

I sent mine back on the 20th of February, and only heard back on Monday.

Dont worry Gemmie about taking your time to send back packet 3 we got our noa2 in November and I did not send back till the begining of Jan

As long as your NOA2 has not expired it is not a problem

Think it took them about 3 weeks for mine to go on the system, I told them I was planning on leaving April and had my interview 6th March, they do pay attention to the date you put as leaving for the US

Have they logged your packet 3 return on the system yet? I called DOS and they told me mine had been logged on and I am eligible for an interview but one has not been allocated yet. Maybe try calling DOS to see if they have logged you packet 3 details yet, that may give you some peace of mind?
