My turn to need a shoulder...

Hi all,

Thought I'd be stronger when this time came, but I am, in reality, a mushy mess. David's been here with me for 4 weeks and I just returned from the Detroit airport after having said "see you soon"... we refused to say "good bye"....

I have plenty of distractions to help me pass the time... my kids, my job, my horses... but it was so easy having him here... it felt so right. And now I feel so alone. Back to emails, text messages, skype....

Feeling a little sorry for myself right now, even though I'm hearing my own encouraging words to others in my ear... it's still not easy, as most of you know. We don't have a plan for a return vacation, and won't until we see some movement with our case....

My mom called to see how I was doing... her way of encouraging is not exactly supportive: "have you ever done a background check on him?" (thanks Mom, the US govt is going to do that for me  ) "why are you worried about him? he's a grown man" (even grown men get sad and lonely, mom) "the girls like him, don't they? did I sense some tension about that?" (for crying out loud... it's an ADJUSTMENT for everyone, especially the girls who have been used to an 'all girls' house now for almost 4 years....)

Sigh.

Just needed to get that out...

I'm going to check the board now... see what I've been missing...

Cheers to all of the lonely people out there tonight!

Jen

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Awww Jen, we all know what you're feeling right now...we were in your shoes a week ago. it's hard, we know. In fact, D and I just said 'crappy anniversary' tonite, lol. Yes it sucks and it's hard and awful, but you will feel better.

YOu know what I did? I wallowed in my own pity and cried my azz off. Then Friday, I woke up and said 'right, time to get on with stuff'

Tomorrow you will be one day closer to your lives together without distance...so welcome tomorrow! Personally we've been drowning ourselves in work to make the time seem to go faster.

Diversion is key imo!

Thanks Lisa... I allowed myself a pity party all the way home in the car... took me a while to be composed enough to start the ignition. I've poured a glass of wine and am now visiting with all of you.. boy, did I miss some drama today, or what?

Debbie  .... I'm not finished reading that thread yet... I have read just enough to delete my pic from my signature and make sure any specific info was deleted from my timeline and profile... such a shame to always have to look over your shoulder these days... Hugs Jen....I do know that feeling. It was the hardest part of our relationship while we were apart - the airport partings. Hang in there...it will come to an end soon though. That's what got me through all this, knowing that the separation was only temporary. Hope you two are together soon...permanently (F)

Not sure why I bothered with make-up today, actually...

Temporary is the operative word... I've told him that I already feel as though we're married... this is just an extended 'business trip'. Thanks for the hugs, Karen... I need 'em. Tomorrow will be better.
