Just an update...

Pim and I are a couple weeks past the 6 month mark now for our K1. I called yesterday and spoke to a customer service rep who passed me along to a case officer. Both were very polite and the officer told me they were still on Sept 15 (Ours is Sept 19) applications. I asked her why so many others are approved in much less time and she said that 6 months is the "average" wait time. So I guess that means MANY wait 9-12 months or longer! Guess I'll wait another couple of weeks and call again.

Yes, this is typical to tell you that you are in a normal waiting period. Just know they that dont have any more info then you do! I called them 6 months and 1 week into it and they told me the same thing. Have you tried writing your congressman? They were pretty quick in getting back to me (my senator tho got back to me well after I got approved.). I got approved at 219 days. Not sure why I got approved suddenly. I had no "updates" and case still says "pending". I never got an email, our noa2 just came in the mail randomly one day (i was in UK visiting when it came so my sister texted me to tell me). Hope urs comes soon! I know its AGONY!! best wishes!!!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jere. 29:11

When you call, politely yet firmly cut the screener off before he or she starts the canned script, and say, "I wish to be escalated to an immigration officer." The screener will object, but you should insist.

Hopefully, your wait won't be much longer... been there, suffered that, si man.

I did contact my Congressman...and his office did reply quickly. They sent me a copy of a boilerplate letter they got back from UCSIS that our case was in background check and that Federal law prohibits interference with this process. That was a a week or so prior to or 6 month mark. Guess I'll give them another try. Thanks everyone for the encouragement.
