Hi guys,

I'm currently in the U.S. visiting my husband, but I'm going back home tomorrow, so I want to make sure I have everything as organized as possible before I leave, so that when the time comes, my husband can mail everything away.

I'm hoping you guys can let me know if I'm missing anything or forgetting about anything.

Here's what I have so far...

For the DS-230 package:

- DS-230 part I - completed and signed.

- Extra sheet with details of all of my prior trips to the U.S. (I have written my name and date of birth on the top, and will add my NVC # once I have it. I have written "#25 continued", and added the extra information in the same format used on the actual form.)

- DS-230 part II - completed but NOT signed.

- Original long-form Birth Certificate.

- Photocopy of original long-form Birth Certificate (I'm going to write "photocopy" on it, just so there is no confusion.)

- Original Marriage Certificate.

- Copy of original Marriage Certificate (Again, I'm going to write "photocopy" on it.)

- Colour photocopy of my Passport biographic data page.

- 2 passport-sized photos of me with my full name and date of birth written on the back. (Once I have my NVC#, I'll get my husband to write it on the back of the photos as well.)

Here's what I'm currently missing, but will prepare as soon as possible, before submitting anything:

- Police check (I'll have it done as soon as I can once I get back home, and then I'll mail it to my husband.)

- Cover letter - itemizing everything I am submitting.

- The cover sheet dealy that one can print out after paying the $400 IV bill online.

Now, for the AOS package:

- I-864EZ - completed and signed by my husband. We figure this is the appropriate form to use, since we seem to meet the criteria (only one beneficiary, no co/joint sponsor, only using income to qualify.)

- 2008, 2007, 2006 tax transcripts from the IRS. (My husband is waiting for the 2008 transcript to arrive, but it should be here soon.)

- Letter of employment (dated March 31, 2009)

- Paystubs for the most recent 6 months.

- Cover letter - itemizing everything that is being submitted.

- The cover sheet dealy that gets printed out after the $70 fee is paid.

I think that's about it. Am I missing anything? Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that once we have our NVC#, my husband will be writing it on every page of everything that we submit... even the originals. Is that a good idea or a bad idea? Also, I think we intend to send both packages in together, but they'll be in separate folders and clearly labeled to avoid confusion.

Looks like your missing the DS-3032 form. It the form the beneficiary sign to appoint the agent, "you" Coice of Agent Form and I think there is a new version, expires 2012.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. Thanks! I'm going to print one of those out, fill it out, sign it, and leave it here with my husband to mail in. I also intend to submit it via email when the time comes for that.

I put my photos in one of those clear small plastic bags and used a plastic paper clip to pin it to my coversheet. Those small photos tend to get lost in the envelope or when they open the envelope. I also wrote name, DOB and case number with sharpie on that bag

Look like you have to email in DS3032, since you don't have a NVC #. Print out the form without a barcode and NVC # is point less.

Thanks! I believe it's the DS-230 that has a new version. And I totally know what you mean about not thinking straight. I'm right there with ya. This is whole process involves so much information, and correct procedures etc. It's enough to make my head spin!

Ah yes! Good call! I did that for the I-130 photos. :) I'll definitely do that again. Thanks!

Hmm... I thought the barcode could be created and attached to the form afterwards, unless I'm mis-reading the guide. If I'm mistaken, then yeah, I'll just have to email it. Thanks!
