Can we all come visit, and have a big Hawaii VJ Party?!

Its only 2 bedrooms and 1 one bath, but we do love visitors. So if anyone doesn't mind sleeping in tents, we can have a huge VJ party.

I'm sure Dale will make room on his dog bed for someone. He likes to cuddle.

I love it! I want a cute open house like that, so charming!

I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, I couldn't imagine getting to live there!

Most people say that, especially when they see the cost of living here. Everyone whose come to visit always complains about the price of everything. When Chris and I moved here we did the same thing. You eventually get desensitized to it. We pay usually $250-300 for electricity each month, and spend about $700-800/month on groceries and we don't eat extravagantly at all. I've said this before but a can of Chunky soup here is usually $5, maybe $4.50 on sale. A gallon of milk is $5.00 (at Walmart) and eggs are also $5.00 for a carton. Fortunately in the summer months fruit is plentiful and cheap because its local grown.

Edit: This one always gets people. A loaf of cheap bread (picture Wonder) is $6.50. And its NEVER on sale. Fortunately there is a Costco in Kona and we buy it there for much cheaper.

Gas is about $2.50/gallon.

Its not all sunshine and rainbows. Actually it is. . . . . just on the Kona side of the island.

Sounds like the prices of groceries on the reserves up north.

But I guess its an eye for an eye in your case, you get the beauty of Hawaii at a cost. I could go for that. :D

Donne moi une poptart!

Seriously you must get up every day and just outside and go: WOW!

I know I would be!

Actually, I get up and scream at the crowing roosters and gobbling turkeys the live in the bushes behind the house. Its a total freaking zoo over here.

In truth, I do get up and have a nice cup of coffee outside and take in the day. Its nice to be able to do that and get outside without bundling up for the next ice age.

Oooooooh honeymoon in Hawaii. Nice! Port calls in Kona and Hilo? We're on the Big Island. Do go up to the volcano if your stop is long enough. And if you decide to leave the comforts of the bedroom. ;)

That's a few VJers coming to the islands this summer.
