Yes I heard its needed during the interview. Its so simple, just a few lines and print & sign. Its always better to prepare and have everything ready then not... and stress about not having something.

The rules state BOTH must provide a new letter of intent. You have lots of time. He can change the date on the letter he did for the I-129f, print it, sign it, and Fedex it to you. even from here on the east coast, he could have it in your hand tomorrow or the next day, tops. 3 hours before Fedex closes. He can do this in 3 minutes and drive to FedEx

What you DON'T have time for is going to an interview un-prepared

Where does it say that? I can only find a "suggestion" for new letters in the guide above.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Actually you are correct. Sorry for my mis-speak

The rules sent by the State Department to the consulates only state that the consular officer must satisfy him(her)self that the parties are still intending to marry, and since (I believe) her fiance will not be present at the interview, VJs suggestion is a strong one, and very good one. Also the rules Of the I-134 state ONE years tax return is needed ONLY if self employed. You do not need a tax return if you have a job. So should we suggest she leave the tax return on the kitchen table when she goes for the interview? And the rules to the Consulates from the State Dept. say a K-1 visa applicant of working age CAN be considered to be self supporting and not need an affadavit of support at all! Yep, true. The consulate has the OPTION of "satisfying themselves" the applicant will not be a public charge simply by determining "Oh, yeah, she can get a job"

Are you suggesting her fiance NOT print and send a new letter of intent? I mean we could just say "Nah, only a suggestion, f'get about it" What do you think?

I will be more careful in my use of the word "rules". Thank you.

I was going to say Gary even from your own experience. Kiev does NOT require an updated letter.

YMMV

No, I was just keeping my own "guidance" in accord with what is out there. I thought maybe you found something new and shiny about this :star:

But I agree, the suggestions for the guides are right on the money for people to follow!

People, it just pays to follow a mindset of reasonable "overkill." If the embassy recommends a new letter of marriage intent, take 5 minutes and make one. Bring the tax return. Do a little more and beat the CO at his own game. The CO's job is to deny your visa, so think of it as a game. Go in loaded for bear, and emerge with the prized pink slip for visa! The interview is not the time to skimp or be lazy. Get 'er DOne! :star:

Yes , it is nessasary for the letter of intent to marry . My fiancee was asked for it in her interview , and others were never asked for it . Its in the usembassy website , under documents needed for visa interview . The letter isnt just for saying you want to marry her ( they allready know that from you filling the petition ), its mostly telling the usembassy you are aware you have only 90 days to marry your fiancee . And it should be in writting , not typed then printed
