Hubby's interview date as of this morning.....June 17th! Now we hope to have our K3 interview date (possibly mid-end of May??? We should know in the next few days...) and pray the consulate allows us to flip!!

I love ur waiting around smiley, I am going to clone it I am gonna need it, since our K3 was automatically cancelled due to our CR1 now being assigned a date. So much for being able to flip

So here I am, awaiting June 17th to roll around.....50 more days to go!! Therefore.........

So since you already had an interview appointment for the K3, they wouldn't let you use that one for the CR1? Is it because they can't get the package there soon enough? Typical government process. Just curious because I was originally intending to file for the K3, then just figured we'd wait for the CR1.

Thanks for the sweet wishes. I can tell u r a sweetheart ....Flip not successful as you know by now But at least I am among some cool buddies here on VJ waiting for the June interviews Hubby is bummed because when he got the K3 interview date assigned for May 4 he couldn't believe it was so close, then we emailed consulate and they called him saying oh ur K3 is cancelled since ur CR1 now has a date Poor hubby was and and I was of course disappointed. But I tried to cheer him up since CR1 is more beneficial in the long run (he can get health benefits as soon as we get him his SS#, a driver's license, a job..all of which he would have waited months had he entered with K3). Too bad they didn't agree to the flip But it's ok...what's done is done. Time to perk up and be positive and count down every day...OH BOY now the real patience is being tested!! 50 and counting!! But this too shall pass....one way or another.

Hey vny, thanks! Mess alright!! Can't wait till that day when hubby calls to say visa in hand!

To answer ur q: I guess for some consulates the CR1 overrides the K3. So it all depends on ur consulate. Some don't mind flipping and some cancel the K3 and keep the NVC assigned date for CR1 and refuse to move it up or change it. I don't believe it had anything to do with the package...though I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it. I read someone else post something similar a while ago saying same thing happened at their consulate. So I kind of knew there was a chance we would be denied the flip. Our consulate called hubby and said we can't keep ur K3 now that CR1 is assigned. It's been cancelled and no we can't touch the NVC assigned date either. That's what happened to us Ok time to dry those tears and get over it lol The only thing K3 served us in is that it underwent AP and b/c of it, our CR1 AP was a lot shorter and we were able to get a June interview. Who knows if it weren't for K3 AP we might still be waiting to hear an interview date and maybe we would have gotten a July interview instead. Just trying to look for the silver lining here. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. And so far I still believe that

Also, finally today the operator told me that our package was shipped to the embassy today. So I checked the DHL website using th3mo's expert advise which can be found at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=194465 But for the "reference" I put in EXP28APR2009A and date range 29 Apr to 30 Apr. There were 25 packages that showed up, so if you have been waiting to see if your package got shipped, now may be the time to look. Thanks th3mo, great instructions, except like you mentioned in your post, I had to play with the reference date a little. When I had put in EXP29... (since they said left today 30th), only got 2 packages. So I put in 28 with the range above and POOF!!!, 25 packages showed up. YAAY!!!! and one going to Tokyo!!!

Oh that's cool vny...ours left NVC on April 28th and it didn't show up on the 29th...so maybe its in there now!

Hubby was telling me every 5 mins, our package didn't show up yet lol Now we have something to keep us amused for the next couple of days. I want to try my luck again with requesting our CR1 be moved up once consulate receives the file. But am not holding my breath, something is telling me we will be denied. Can't hurt to try one last time though, maybe we will get a nice person who reads my email and is having a wonderful day and decides since they have the file they don't have a reason to hold us up What I don't get is how come some Vjers were able to move up their appointments and some of us can't. I wonder why the rules are different from consulate to consulate

Hehehe silly vny! I sure hope that is the case!! Maybe once received it's a different story, who knows...won't know till I try. Is there a Spanish expression that means that? But I highly doubt it will be May 4th, the packet won't make it there in time. It probably won't be delivered till Monday and it usually takes a day or two to be entered in their system. Hubby thinks we should wait 4-5 days after the file is delivered to email them but I am so impatient and not sure I can hold off that long
