Yes we are annoying, helpful, loving, crazy, overwhelming, dysFUNctional, loyal, crazy (did i say that again ) but overall very helpuful and supportive a majority of the time.

I have read through this entire thread and a majority of it is supportive. Just a few it ruffled their feathers with the still married and pregnant thing...that would happen any where on a public forum. Matter of fact, that would make news, cause issues pretty much anywhere not just in an online forum like VJ. End of story.

Sorry, but the OP asked for advice and included info that doesn't make her case look easy. While some say it will be ok, that's merely speculation. We know cases that have gone either way AND relationships that seemed so great to the USC go so bad.

So, sorry to those of you who only want positivity. You're in the wrong place to expect it on a public board. Frankly, I'm sick of non-Muslim women going to the ME to sleep with Muslim men they're not married to, and sick of the men who can't wait to get it on. It makes American women seem loose and exposes the Muslim men as less than pious. My husband and I waited until we were married, but to admit that is soooo judgemental here, while saying you fornicated and got knocked up is worth defending.

Admittedly, she did request advice in the MENA forum and not the K1 forum and she got MENA advice. Perhaps a good introduction to her new SO's culture and probably a rude awakening. I don't think any of it (or at least most of it) was out of spite. People are just being honest about the way things usually are. I think that's better than having smoke blown up your ###.

It's the women that are branded far more often than the men. It's not uncommon for MENA people to believe that it's religiously ok to fornicate with "godless" western women, who are already perceived to be sexually permissive with men. There are different cultural perpectives of sexual behavior between westerners and MENA folks. I'm not saying it's right, but it should not be denied.
