Rush use to be on a local TV station before cable, exactly what useful things did he have to say? And did anything he say change anything? Can switch on my Wisconsin Ideals network, also on the net someplace for everyone to hear and listen to experts on just about any government issue you can think of. But what does it change? Are they trying to form my opinions?

I don't need that, know I have to work, and get notified when taxes are due, especially the latter, and know the penalties if I don't pay. I can also write my senator and congressman, already did this morning on things I do not like that directly affect my family and me, even sent a letter to Obama for something I didn't like.

I have my own opinions on how this country is screwing up my life, one thing that really pissed me off and I seldom use that word, was strip searching my wife when she came back for no just cause.

I sure in the hell don't need Rush in my life, he is an a$$hole anyway, but even if he wasn't, he is only one in 350 million people that have opinions. Everybody has opinions, but will give Rush credit for getting rich from it.

Hypocrisy: hy-poc’ri-sy, n.(LL. hypocrisies; G;R. hypokrisis, a reply, acting a part, feigning, from hypokrinesthi, to answer, play a part, pretend; hypo, under and krinisthai, to contend, dispute.) a feigning to be what one is not; the acting of a false part; a deception as to real character and feeling, especially as regards to morals and religion.*

“Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. ... And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up,”

However, once his drug use was revealed, did Rush Limbaugh have to answer to the harsh penalties he demanded for other Americans? So far, the answer is a resounding ‘No!

On the contrary, after a very short few weeks in rehab, Mr. Limbaugh is back on the air, declaring his righteousness to radio listeners. How arrogant is it to declare that you, personally and individually, embody truth? Yet that is what Mr. Limbaugh did when he reopened his radio show after emerging from rehab.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME, how can you even listen to this lowlife. He should have been sent to prision like the common folk, if I had been caught with the amount of drugs he was holding, I would be in for twenty to life.

Word!

Astounding things such as this happen in this country...and in others, too.

Oh well, there is no safe place to be...except in one's own skin.

What can you do when you live in a shoe?

Hee, hee.

I have never listened to his show. The article appeals to those who like Rush. So what? He is not a politician, I don't need to know what he says or thinks - I do not even care what he says or thinks.

If he ever stands for election, I would of course seek to find out more about him - but I do not foresee that eventuality.

Living proof that the article is correct.

Along the same logical lines you would also believe a Simon Callow fan saying it's not possible to understand what it's like to live in America if you don't watch American Idol.:rofl::rofl:

I presume you mean Simon Cowell - Simon Callow is in fact an reknown actor and is considerably older than Simon Cowell. Its always good to get the right guy...otherwise you could be attributing all kinds of horrible things to the wrong guy! fancy that!....

A liberal co-worker will listen to NPR but never Rush. I point that I'm more open minded than him because I listen to Rush and NPR.

I'm more open-minded than most liberals on VJ too.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use.... The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them, and send them up the river too.

I might consider taking him seriously once he made it up that river. ;)

I listen to Bootz/Limbaugh until....they go off on some tangent and start ranting about what ever they are ranting about that day. I like to hear thought provoking conversation. Not finger pointing, name calling, berating cr@p.

Which means I listen to B/L about one hour a day. they pander to their audience who want them to rant and rave about "those people".

Boortz is better about it but he still just goes off.

I would like them both to look back a bit--I did hear Neil talk about the shortcomings of the Bush administration last week! but only for about 5 minutes and then off he went again.

If we can't objectively look back, I think it will be difficult as we go forward.

Dude you mean bashing anyone and everyone who doesn't agree with you is not a form of being "open-minded" or an example of "diplomacy over war"?

Hmm. This must be a misprint then in my 'Dummies Guide to Becoming a Liberal Yank'. Co Author Steven.

It has some good points for me the new lib student. For example:

"If you decide to host a TV show, spend the majority of your time bashing and criticizing those with opposing views; Unlike that clown Oreilly of course, who spends his time actually discussing his ideas. OMFG What a moron hey" Found this on page 589 out of 600

From the 1st page to page 580 the guide focuses on:

  • Rights issues.
  • Freedom to do whatever you want (regardless of consequences).
  • How to sue! sue! sue! and then sue more.
  • How to protest and intimidate (mob rule) to get your way.
  • How to be a bloody cry baby whine for 8 years when someone else wins office yet accuse others of whining when your bud is in.
  • How to blame corporations and the government for your circumstances.
  • How to look at parts of the world that are doing things better than us (like health care) but totally ignore things that go against any of the above points. (Like not being able to sue doctors for frivolous reasons)
  • How to accuse people of "going on a tangent" the second they don't want to discuss your point of "All Republicans are dirty rotten corrupt scoundrels".
  • More rights issues
  • Followed by another 20 chapters of even more rights issues.

Apparently without liberal yanks, their hippie views and protests the rest of the world would still be in slavery and oppressed.

You should get it. The guide is awesome. I am sure Steven has a few copies laying around.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I have never watched American Idol and do not talk about it because I do not know about it.

Perhaps he just thinks that NPR is 'left wing' and Limbaugh is 'right wing' so that sort of balances the scales, so to speak?

I guess that is the extent of some of the logic on VJ

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Is it even worth pointing out that NPR is a whole network and Rush is just one man? I guess not...

MC, you know how I like to yank your chain? Rich (Luckystrike) loves to yank people's chains like a compulsive master-baitor. He's probably serious about 13 % percent of the time. He takes his pants off like everyone else - one leg at a time. In the Navy, they used to call him luckypants.
