The NVC has asked that I send the original documents required: birth certificate, police record, marriage certificate etc. Of course I am nervous about sending originals anywhere, but I noticed in your guidelines that the originals are expected to be with you on the interview date. How will this be possible if they have been submitted to NVC? I am a little confused.

Originals = certified copies. For example you go to the city hall in the town where you were born and get a certified copy of your birth certificate. It has the clerk's seal on it to certify.
