Can NVC AP Happen After Document Submission?

Hi guys,

A quick question. I know many are put in AP at the NVC for unknown reasons. From the posts I have read, it ususally happens as soon as the USCIS forwards the case to the NVC and primarily to to K1 or K3 applicants. The NVC normally does not forward the I-129F application to the embassy until the AP is over.

My I-129F application was forwarded to the embassy as soon as the NVC received it, within a week. I have currently submitted my I-864 and DS-230 applications to the NVC for the CR1 and am waiting for the case to be completed.

My question is am I in any danger of being put into AP at the NVC at this stage? The reason I wonder is NVC scanned my I-864 and DS-230 on March 20, 2009. It's been 10 days and I have not received any case completion message or any RFE's. I see many whose case was completed within a week. So I wonder if my case could be put in AP at this point, or am I just being paranoid?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks.

No AP but RFE possible at NVC stage depends on documents submitted. Case completion varies; best source is to call NVC.

VJ Members,

Our I-130 was approved in less than a month. Receipt Notice was dated 03/13/2009......Approval notice says....The above petition has been approved. We have sent the original visa petition to the NVC,..........However, please allow 90 days before calling NVC if the beneficiary has not received correspondence from the NVC"...................

My husband did tried calling NVC a few times hoping to get a case number from them....and AVR says...no record found........

Question:

Do we have to wait for 90 days even for a case number? My I-129F still pending at USCIS though............Are we on AP?

Your inputs is highly appreciated.

Do not wait for AVR message. To get case # for I-129F call NVC (use USCIS receipt#).

You may not find any record for approved I-129F petition at NVC’s AVR system, the reason is simple after approval USCIS send the petition to NVC and after case # assign NVC send petition to US embassy/ consulate.

NVC does send letter to petitioner about this case forwarding. Please note that K-3 visa petition handle at US embassy/consulate level.
