I passed my AOS interview earlier today. The interview was somewhat brief lasting a mere 10 minutes. The officer asked to see our ID's

passports, my husbands drivers license and bcs. He also asked for our 9 month old son's bc. His questions were brief and consisted of when was my date of arrival in the U.S. and if I had left the country since then. If this was our first marriage, if our son was our first child, if I had goals of working. We updated him that we have moved to a new address which he didn't question, we showed him our new lease. He asked for our 2008 tax return. He asked what my phone number was. He asked typical Homeland Security questions i.e. am I a terrorist, have I been arrested etc...

He then asked where my husband worked and he and my husband began discussing the global economic meltdown which he professed, he was still trying to understand. My husband was giving him some of his insights so they were back and forth on that. Finally he asked if we had any more questions where my husband asked if I could leave the U.S. w/ the green card which he replied yes. He asked again if we had any more questions and I asked, am I approved? which he replied yes:) He said our son was the one who made the approval easy. He was very friendly and smiling. At first he seemed stoic and firm but towards the middle of our interview which again was 10 minutes, he was very congenial. All in all a very satisfying and welcoming interview.

My wife got her GC in mail with no interview. Just Submitted the paperwork, and a few months later it was approved.

I wonder why they had you do a interview, You already had a interview in Manila for a Visa

I was under the understanding that K1 / K3 Visa more than likely would not need another AOS interview for approval

consider yourself lucky then! some of us if not most, usually will undergo brief and easy interview, seldom will go thru strict interrogation (very very few)... most likely depends on where you file the AOS or who handle your case. (my own point of view)... i always consider those guys lucky when they get the GC right away, but for those who'll get an interview, dont worry, it wont be that bad lol... easier than the embassy... heheh...
