I puffy heart you fillipino girls for introducing Jasmine rice to me :P

I realize Jasmine rice is actually from Thailand, but I would have never known of it if not because of this community. I tried it for the first time a week ago and my rice never came out this good ever, now I have ordered a 20 lb bag from amazon

I loved the smell too, so I tried to use it for making rice pudding...........BIG MISTAKE :P

I usually use raw rice and loads of milk, let the raw rice cook with the milk, the measurement is like -- for 1 cup of rice I take around 6 cup of milk and then once the rice is cooked I additionally add a whole can of condence milk, so my rice pudding is really thick, anyways using Jasmine rice wasn't a good idea for rice pudding because the rice broke in itsy bitsy pieces.

So going to stick with long grain for rice pudding, but other than that, I am really loving Jasmine rice.

After my fiancée arrived here in Seattle, we became the proud new owners of a 25-pound sack of jasmine rice. I was thinking that it was a lot of rice...until my fiancée told me that back home her mom buys rice in 100-kilo sacks! She reminded me that their dog and cat need to eat also!

:secret: Learn to like brown rice. It's better for you! It only took two weeks, and now, Marie does not even like white rice. Shirakuku. Good, California grown stuff, fresh crop.

Brown rice sucks :P doesn't have any texture. I know its good for health and all that, but I don't eat rice every day, I eat only on weekends. Even my thinly toned white husband hated brown rice

Yeah, I don't like brown rice either. It's also an energy waster because it takes twice as long to cook.

I didn't like brown rice at first because of the color and the smell. But after two weeks of eating this stuff, my bowel movement became regular and my skin complexion became lighter and no more zits for me. It only takes getting used to the smell of it. :star:

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."

at first i didnt like brown rice but i found out that by lessening the water when cooking it, i can achieve a better texture. brown rice actually helps me maintain my weight along with other health benefits . so as much as i would like to eat white rice, i guess ill just have to stick to the healthier one, brown rice, i have no choice
