Ok, so I completed the DS160 on line and have a copy of the DS 156K ready for my interview... my packet 4 letter says I need the DS-156....

The info in the 160 & 156 seem redundant? Do I complete both?

Thanks,

M

Filed: Citizen (apr) Country: China
Timeline

The packet instructions have not been updated to note the NEW DS-160.

The new DS-160 Online, Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application, will eventually replace current nonimmigrant application forms DS-156, 157, 158, and other related forms, such as the DS-156E, 156K, and 156V. The roll-out of the new DS-160 will be gradual. Therefore, not all U.S. Embassies and Consulates will be required to use the form at the same time. U.S. Embassies and Consulates currently using the new form DS-160 are the following: CANADA: Vancouver and Montreal only, MEXICO: Nuevo Laredo, Ciudad Juarez, Matamoros and Monterrey only, Hong Kong S.A.R. and Dublin, Ireland. Nonimmigrant visa applicants will need to review U.S. Embassy website how-to-apply instructions for more details, as well as these Frequently Asked Questions for using DS-160 Online.

I would fill out the old forms and bring them to interview, but I suspect all that is needed is the DS-160 per DOS website.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I thought the same... and you would think Montreal is ahead of the game... my interview letter indicates ' the following forms need to be completed in duplicate and in english:' they go on to list complete the DS156 on line, print 2 copies, and they want me to complete the DS160 as well, print two copies, and have listed web links to both. It really doesn't say either or.... it's misleading... so o be safe, I did both?!
