Just pray that everything goes quickly, give it up to God.. cause its out of your control... better in his hands..

Keep patient, its hard.. but.. this time next year you will be happily in each others arms.. ;).. not even thinking of this process and the wait. Just happy..

I hear of faster approvals when God has his hand in it... heh.. or at least easier handling of the wait, whew!

Its wonderful that you have such strong faith and its going to help you thru this very tedious process but god only helps those that help themselves... so I suggest you gather as much evidence as you can particularly since your fiancee is from the phillipines .... download the forms you need for your pack 3 and start filling them out and gather all the required documents ... Also hang out a bit in the reginal section of the forums and make sure you know what extra requirements that are needed for the phillipines as they need to get as the phillipines consulate has a couple extra requirements....

Good Luck with your journey :)

No worries. I can't get the search function to go for me at the moment, but if you follow the link below it will take you to other members here who are filing for a Cuban beneficiary. I've checked out several of those profiles, and the average time is under two weeks.

Awwww Chica! Keep your head up sweetie. Unfortunately, this process is a hurry up (petitioner) and wait (government) game. I understand the frustration knowing that you are the only one that can visit. My fiance couldn't visit me either, and it is really hard knowing that I can't travel right now at all. I haven't seen my man since August 2008, and I was used to seeing him every 3 months since 2004.

I wrote a couple of stories on here to help pass the time for my yardie VJ members...you may find them interesting (feel free to ask me if you can't understand the Jamaican patois). Let me know if you want to read them.

I think this is great advice. The hard part comes if you've already gathered every single thing for the interview, and STILL wait for the approval. By then, stuff you've prepared starts to expire and you end up getting it again...

So to that, I might add gathering your representatives' contact info just in case your NOA2 takes longer than 6 months... you'll have the letters/phone number all ready to call on 6 months + 1 day.

And I highly recommend reading Jawi's story while you wait!

Someone said that the K1 process for us Cubans runs generally faster...but iam still waiting...this waiting sucks...iam so depressed! :crying:

You've only been waiting for about 8 weeks. Relax, you have ages of waiting to go :)

I know..but this process is not easy at all!I spend all day at work back and forth from USCI site to VJ...what a life! lol

what a life indeed. I have to go to the VJ website without getting paid for it! I wouldn't go to the USCIS websire if I WAS paid to go to it. Such levels of productivity are perfectly acceptable in communist countries. Here, one may be expected to be more productive, since employers expect results, OR one could get a job with the USCIS processing K-1 visas.

My advice is to pass the time (if you don't need to do anything to earn your wage) by making sure you have all the documents you need for the interview, get them translated, make sure your fiance has everything he needs, be prepared when you get your NOA2 in another 2-3 months for the interview to follow 2-3 months after that.

Oh, and the USCIS still lists aour I-129f status as "received and pending" even though my wife has her green card.

Thats funny..I work for a living! He lives in Cuba not me! But I still find time to check sites...Before it seemed I never had time for anything..Now after I applied for the k1 Visa...it seems time cannot pass by any slower!

Petitions for Cuban beneficiaries are normally processed within days or a few weeks. They are weighted that way because the rest of the process can take longer. The OP has a legitimate question.

Thank you!!!!

wow, some of the replies dont seem very caring at all. yes we all know that the wait is frustrating and expecting it to all be done within a few months is unrealistic, but give the girl a break. i think she is looking for info and support not to be slammed becus she is voicing her angst at waiting. we all hate the wait. to our friend waiting for her guy from Cuba, hang in there and wait, go visit him, get yours papers together and expect it to take a full 6 months- without problems. some people have been waiting much longer....

I'm jealous that Cubans get preferential treatment because of their expected long wait at the embassy. I think the embassy we're going through (Montreal) has been speeding up the past couple months, but I'm still jealous.

I don't buy that they give Cubans preferential treatment and speed up their 129f's because the wait is so long for an interview at the embassy. Since when does the government give a ####### about how long they make any of us wait?? From anywhere? If that were true then Montreal filers would also get bumped to the front of the pile and we all (who've been through there) know that's not the case. The wait has been notoriously long for Montreal for a long time.

Anyway, I thought the reason Cuba gets through quicker is some special agreement between the US and Cuba. I know I read that somewhere, I just know it.

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment
