I'm jealous that Cubans get preferential treatment because of their expected long wait at the embassy. I think the embassy we're going through (Montreal) has been speeding up the past couple months, but I'm still jealous.

Unfortunately, there are people out there who are still waiting for their NOA2 well over a year with no answers or explanations. I'm sorry but in my opinion, your complaint, however valid it may be, might rub more than a few people the wrong way. There is so much injustice or lack of transparency in the way USCIS works that giving anybody preferential treatment (apart from people being deployed) tends to be a sore subject to most. So don't be surprised by some rather strong comments.

I hope you get your NOA2 soon. Good luck.

It is not a matter of preference..but the truth is in order for Cubans to leave their country they have to go thru far more processes than other countries(including giving your house to the government)..which still makes the process a lengthy one...

Someone said that the K1 process for us Cubans runs generally faster...but iam still waiting...this waiting sucks...iam so depressed! :crying:

Looks like it's been less than 2 months since you sent your petition. Patience is the key. Don't be depressed. You're just getting started. Some folks got approved after 203 days. They never cried , or got depressed. Hang in there. You'll be fine.

Cubans have to go through an exit-visa before leaving to the U.S. that is why it takes so long at the embassy unlike waiting for an interview date at some busy consulates.

I can TOTALLY relate! I looked at the Cuban timelines and figured out that if I went by that I should have received my NOA2 after between 25-45 days. I had my calendar marked for 25 and 45 days and both have passed with not a word! What's up? Everyone says its faster for Cubans, it seemed to go faster for everybody else?

Now imagine getting so close only to find out you have to wait a little longer, read my signature. You are lucky processing times these days are not as bad as when we went through it. Goodluck to you!
