no one country can make a process any faster, every country goes through the same process... you just sent your petition last month... sorry but you'll have to give it more time...

The OP is actually right...USCIS generally puts Cuban petitions throught more quickly, because on the Embassy side it takes a LONG time, according to previous info I have seen on VJ. However you are completely right - its been a MONTH. Be a little patient...you're gonna need it through this process!

To the OP, my best advice would be to look at other Cuban timelines for some idea of what to expect....

***NOTE: yes i know in general USCIS does not process based on the country the person is coming from, but i have seen ON VJ, other info saying that for Cubans, special consideration is taken due to the extremely long wait at the Embassy, or something like that. So please don't attack me for what I said***

yes, thats why we need this support group here. try to realize you will be waiting quite a few months. if you know that it wont be as painful. I was ok waiting, very patient...until about month 5, i started going crazy! but like you say, you may have a shorter waiting time. your timeline says July, so try n sit back n aim for July! then if it comes sooner u will be so happy. spend time talking to your fiance, save your convos, call logs, etc. visit each other if you want. this is a long, trying wait, but it will be worth it. best wishes for a speedy noa2!

Someone was wrong. ou file February 9th and you think it "sux"? Let me ask, are you one that sits in the back seat and says "are we there yet?"

My petition went really fast, because I am from Vermont and we get special treatment because I live right by the service center (there, I said it, it MUST be true, Vermonters get special treatment, NOT Cubans) and it took fully 6 months from the time I filed until my fiancee (now wife) arrived and I repeat, that is FAST. Also, just to brighten your day a little more, we waited almost TWICE as long from NOA2 until the interview than from NOA1 to NOA2 and Kiev is a really fast consulate because Ukrainians get special treatment since they are, well...Ukrainian.

If you are thinking of arriving here before August or September, best fill in your calendar with a pencil.

Agreed. As much as everyone would like to believe VJ is a be all end all. It isn't. You filed to VSC in February. You have at least another 3 months for waiting for your I129F to get approved. I'm going to burst your, its going to be fast bubble and tell you that it isn't. Aim for July as mentioned above and hopefully you'll get pleasantly surprised on the interim figure out what else you can do that is productive to stop you from thinking how crappy the wait time is.

I-751 file: 11/07/11

NOA1 date: 11/10/11

Biometrics: 11/30/11

Approval: 08/17/12

Hold what you got and maintain.

what a life indeed. I have to go to the VJ website without getting paid for it! I wouldn't go to the USCIS websire if I WAS paid to go to it. Such levels of productivity are perfectly acceptable in communist countries. Here, one may be expected to be more productive, since employers expect results, OR one could get a job with the USCIS processing K-1 visas.

My advice is to pass the time (if you don't need to do anything to earn your wage) by making sure you have all the documents you need for the interview, get them translated, make sure your fiance has everything he needs, be prepared when you get your NOA2 in another 2-3 months for the interview to follow 2-3 months after that.

Oh, and the USCIS still lists aour I-129f status as "received and pending" even though my wife has her green card.

Petitions for Cuban beneficiaries are normally processed within days or a few weeks. They are weighted that way because the rest of the process can take longer. The OP has a legitimate question.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Thats funny..I work for a living! He lives in Cuba not me! But I still find time to check sites...Before it seemed I never had time for anything..Now after I applied for the k1 Visa...it seems time cannot pass by any slower!

No worries. I can't get the search function to go for me at the moment, but if you follow the link below it will take you to other members here who are filing for a Cuban beneficiary. I've checked out several of those profiles, and the average time is under two weeks.
