Just something I noticed in the K3 forum just now:

So my wife had her interview today at the Montreal Consulate, and everything went well until they reviewed tax returns. They said that since its tax season now, they want my 2008 tax returns. This is unfair as my tax returns are not DUE for another 2 weeks! My income was more than sufficient from 2005-2007. I'm so down. This process has taken SO long. Now have to rush my tax returns, mail them, and then sit and wait. Does anyone know what the required minimum is for a 2 person household in the U.S.? If I'm not above it, I'll need a 2nd affidavit of support. Please help...

So if your interview is in the next couple of weeks, might want to ensure you have the U.S. citizen's 2008 return with you.

The slowness of processing visas is creating many problems for petitioners who have encountered economic distress in the worldwide financial crisis. Some petitioners are just getting in under the wire, but now 2008 tax returns are being requested to ensure petitioners still have qualifying incomes to bring beneficiary to US. Not fair by any means. Good luck to all.

My honey did his 2008 as soon as he had everything together and got the tax place to make me a copy and has already sent it for me. He said I won't need it since it's just last years......I said it would be the one they probably would look for. I feel so much better now!

You guys are SO helpful here! This is useful info and I do have that. In addition, I also asked my husband to mail me his latest pay stubs.

My interview is on 4/15 in Montreal and I'm sooooooooo nervous. I can't help it. I just am!

If you read the other thread, I'm worried that my overstay (6 weeks) will be a problem. I'm so angry with the attorney who advised me and reassured me that it would be ok. He even has his own radio slots and tv slots!!! He's a U.S. lawyer and I hope I won't be punished for someone they educated, trained, and certified.

If you are a believer, pray for me!

:bonk:
