I saw this in the Metro this morning and was shocked.

An Iranian woman has been given the opportunity by the Iranian courts to exact her retribution in a literal sense. She spurned an Iranian gentlemans advances so he threw acid in her face and blinded her. Now she will have the opportunity to drop acid in his eyes while he is anesthatized!!! A literal application of what many religious texts call "an Eye for an Eye"

Whoa!! That's different. If they really want to go for the whole an eye for an eye thing, why is he being anesthetized?? I assume she was fully awake when he threw the acid in her face.

Here's a question for everyone: if you were that woman, would you drop the acid in his eyes?

It takes a cold individual to do it themselves. I am cringing at the thought of dropping acid in someones eyes. It will certainly act as a deterrent.

On a side note, Iran is not renown for backing the woman in such situations. I am a little surprised that the man was not deemed to be right because he suffered the humiliation of having his advances spurned.

To answer my own question: I certainly would not drop the acid in the guys eyes (although I admit I would be tempted). I believe that our actions speak volumes about us as individuals and as much as I would be very angry at the man for doing this to me, his punishment will come (but that's just my opinion)!
