Hi all,

Quick question but i have my biometrics on the 8th April :star: and on the appointment letter it asks to bring all NOAs, passport and driving lisence or state id card.

Q1- does it matter that my passport has my old last name on it?i havnt managed to get it changed yet

Q2- I dont have a driving lisence in the UK other than a provisional (written permit card) which i had issued when i was 18 so its since expired and i cant get a state id card as you need visa proof in getting it and my K1 has expired  . I do have my university card which (even though ive graduated) expires in 2010. It has my name on it and a photo. Will this be ok as id to bring along?

THANKS

Passport is the best

What to bring:

  • Identification (Passport or State-issued ID, if all you have is passport, that's fine)
  • Appointment Letter(s)
  • Marriage Certificate (If name changed).

I just took my UK passport with my maiden name on, the NOAs and marriage license to biometrics. I didn't have a state ID or US driving license and I didn't bother taking my UK license since it didn't have a picture on it; everything was fine.

Removing conditions:

10/9/10 - Package sent to Vermont

10/13/10 - NOA1 date, received 10/18

ohhh ok so i dont have to bring both? for certain?

Passport will be ok?

Don't need both - most folks likely wouldn't even have one or the other (State-issued ID or DL).

ID is simply required so they know you are the person they're photographing/finger-printing.

Passport is certainly OK (don't forget to bring a copy of your marriage certificate if your name changed.)
