Hi,

I recently just got married to my husband who is a US citizen and trying to apply for the greencard. As I was filling out the forms, I was wondering if I can go ahead and apply for my mother also. If yes, what is the process and what forms would I need for her? If no, when can I file for her and what is the process?

Right now I'm trying to apply for myself through AOS on family based. I want to make sure that I got all the right forms.

1.) I-485

2.) I-693

3.) G-325A, (1 form for my husband and 1 form for me?)

4.) I-864

5.) I-130

Please help if anyone knows about this because I'm trying to finish filling out the forms, but I don't want to lose the opportunity to apply for my mother if I can right now.

Thank You

You have to be a citizen in order to apply for your Mom.

If the sponsor is a U.S. Citizen, they may petition for the following foreign national relatives to immigrate to the U.S:

Husband or wife

Unmarried child under 21 years of age

Unmarried son or daughter over 21

Married son or daughter of any age

Brother or sister, if the sponsor is at least 21 years old, or

Parent, if the sponsor is at least 21 years old.

If the sponsor is a lawful permanent resident, they may petition for the following foreign national relatives to immigrate to the U.S.:

Husband or wife, or

Unmarried son or daughter of any age.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Thank You, NArocks

So, I just have to wait to become a permanent resident after 3 years then I can file for her or I have to become a US citizen to file for my mom?

Is your mother in the US?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
