Hi guys! I would like to know if income tax 2008 will be asked on the interview (April 27th). My husband hasn't filed his income tax for 2008 yet but he's sent me copies of 2008 w2s. Do you think that'll be good?

Thanks in advance.

Since the 2009 poverty guidelines are out and your interview is after April 15th I would suggest taking a copy of the return or extension.

i would agree to the peeps here knowing it happened to me on a similar situation. well mine was submitting AOS application and to think it was in the early march when we submitted it, and since the deadline of ITR is usually mid of april, we thought we're safe just to have the 2006 itr. but two weeks later, we got an RFE and they're asking for the 2007 lol... so we beg our accountant to have it done asap so we can back on the track... i hope you'll get all the docs needed. if its too much to have it all, then we just hope they wont give a fuss about it since you have other great supporting documents. and i truly wish you luck!!! God bless!!!

Just to let you know, they probably will require you to have your 2008 taxes done. My wife was denied in Feb. as I only sent 2007 return. Yes I made more then enough. They would not accept that. I have heard of several cases that have been held up, until 2008 taxes were done. Sorry for the news, but that is the way they treated us. It is hell trying to get a new interview date.

when i had my interview last Friday the 13th (03.13.09) i only handed my fiance's 2008 income tax. some of the girls talked to at the embassy gave 2006 and 2007 income tax but was told to go back and give the income tax of 2008. i think they just need your hubby/fiance's 2008 income tax.

Good lick on your interview! :)

yes the w-2's should be fine for your interview along with the 2007 return.

W-2's or a 1099's are only a part of a Tax Return, many other factors determine your poverty level for a Tax Return.

Be wise and bring 2008 Tax Returns, If you happen to overstate Income you can always go back and file a revised Tax Return with the IRS

Good Luck........

My wife's interview is on April 2 but my CPA is still working on my taxes and told me we need to file an extension since we are married since spring of last year and my wife does not have a SSN yet since she is not in the states. I sent the W2's along with two years of past ITR all from same company. I will be so pissed if they screw with us on the 2008 ITR.
