OK, now we're getting to the final leg, I have some questions.

First, I've heard that there is a separate fee for the actual visa, besides the ones we paid at the NVC stage. If this is true for CR-1, how much does it cost and how is it to be paid? We're in Thailand. I tried calling the USEM but they only referred us to one section after another, and I ended up with an AVR saying they won't entertain phone call inquiries. Only email with our case number in it. Our case hasn't been forwarded to the USEM yet so there's n use sending an inquiry that way. I would like to know from people here in (preferrably) Bagkok how they have paid for their visa if there is indeed another fee. And is it paid before or after the interview?

Next, the medical and shots. What if I have no record of my shots? Is it mandatory that we take them all again? How long is it going to take? Will I have to stay here for much longer? I hope not!

Please clarify. And good luck to all of us. :)

There is not other fee require by embassy if you have paid in NVC for CR1, for I129f it does because NVC doesn't charge anything to assign the case No.

with CR1 the next fee is Removing condition in USA $700 before 2nd anniversary.

I got all the vaccine again because i didn't have any records. (only 3 vaccines) Medical nearly 5000 Rs. Indian currency

There is no other fee at USEM in Bangkok if you paid all the fee at NVC.

About the medical, if you chose to go to Bumrungrad, which is the hospital that listed with the embassy, I suggest you call to make an appointment and it costs me around 6,400 baht for the medical but Im under 26 yrs so i required to take HPV shot. The package of checking up and vaccine cost about 2,400-2,500 baht and HPV shot alone is 3,500-3,800. I got there pretty early, like 7 am and i got done around 9.30 am. Make an early appointment if you can because it is not busy.

ao_cons, the visa fee is the package IV fee we paid at NVC for our CR-1, a K type visa pays that to the embassy or agent of the embassy. So no additional fee for your visa once the 400 is paid to NVC. the medical question, if you don't have a shot record, the doctor doing the medical will determine the shots you need. There is no additional fee for this in the Philippines over our medical fee of 213.00 but some embassy do charge for the vaccinations so you might want to call the embassy you are using to see if they charge extra for the shots.

Thanks all! Mommy, did you get a request letter from the USEM prior to taking the medical exam? I've called Bumrungrad but they told me I have to contact the USEM first so it sounds like they want a formal request from them. I'm wondering if the shots are going to take months to complete. What if we want to leave shortly after obtaining the visa?

Well I only brought the medical form with me, that is all they wanted to see, i didnt have any letter from the USEM only the form, I did the medical before I know my interview date. I did it on Feb 26 and my interview will be on May 4. I got the form from the email from Embassy because I asked them how long the medical result gonna be valid and they said 6 months and they have attached the form to me in that email. I don't think shots are going to take months to complete. They will finish everything in one day if you go there early and they will give you the seal package for the medical result and you will be bringing that to the embassy and if you get the visa then you are all set and you can travel soon after you get the visa. That is what I am doing as well. I will have my interview on May 4 and If get the visa and I will be flying to the US either May 11 or 13. Please wish me luck too. :)

Once you know that your case is completed and waiting for the date. You can call the hospital said you want to do an appointment and if they asked if u have anything from the embassy, just say you do.

They will ask you to bring the form, passport, one photo of 1 and a half inches.

Well if you need the form please PM me and I can send you the email or if you need any more info. We can get in touch.
