RECALLED PETITION - UPDATE

--

I read people from CSC are getting their RFEs without an update on their online status.

Do you think it´s possible that the same thing will happen to us?

I honestly don´t understand why we are the only ones waiting for it.

I really thought it would be the other way around.

Especially after all the times I called Vermont and they seemed to care about the recalled cases more than anything else.

I can´t call them anymore.

They don´t release more info to the beneficiry and my fiancée already called them this week and won´t do that again..

I wish I could call them everyday to know what´s going on.

Can someone help me, please!

What does "touched" mean?

How do some of you get emails from CIS or wherever?

Is there anything I can be doing besides "waiting?"

Scott

Do you have the phone number for Vermont?

Hi, Scott.

"Touched" means that you have someone look at your case.

You can check the status of you case by going here:

https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/caseStatusSearchDisplay.do

You'll need the receipt number you got (NOA2). You can also set up things so you get updates through e-mail, although most of us obsessively check online :)

To call Vermont:

1-800-375-5283

press 1 pause 2 pause 6 pause 1

Enter Receipt # (NOA2) - listen through

press 3 pause 2 pause 1

Hope this helps.

Lots of us getting our cases reopened.

Maybe they´ll be doing it like crazy this week and sending the RFEs to everyone really soon.

Maybe even this week.

After I got that update I called VSC and they said we are now waiting for the RFE update, so that´s the next step.

However they didn´t say when that would be done.

If you could give them a call and ask when you should expect to get it would be good... you never know when a nice officer will be willing to help you out!

Good luck!!!

My fiance and I decided to wait till tomorrow to try and call again. We're giving them more time to work on our cases hoping that this way they'll have some news for all of us. I'll let you know.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

VSC is making it more complicated by the day. I received no email updates or any change in case status online. I just received a snailmail letter, which states-----After review, we have reopened the above application or petition, or reconsidered the decision previously issued. You will receive a notice under separate cover once all action has been completed.

Anyone else got such a letter? When should I expect to see actual RFE? Just frustrating--

My (useless) lawyer would receive the snailmail, but we haven´t got any contact from him so far.

They sure are complicated at VSC. It seems possible to me that we´ll get the RFE without they updating our status online.

If someone does get that please post here. I so regret hiring a lawyer, but removing him from the case would get things even more complicated now.

I wonder why VSC didn´t send the RFE instead of mailing this notice.

I wanna call them again...

Here are my two cents on this issue because I am in the exact situation you all are.

I've had my mental breakdown and have come out of a very long haze with some clear thoughts for everyone.

1. If your applications were previously approved, then you have nothing to worry about.

2. Good things are coming to us for all of the hell we have been put through.

3. When all our applications are re-approved and sent out again things will be back on track.

4. When we are finally married and all of this is in the past, we will never have to deal with this again.

Of course let me also add that no matter how many times we call, it will not speed things up. I have resigned myself to going to the gym until I am a lifeless human body without a single ounce of energy to worry about anything.

Hope that helps. So lets all just get our frustration out now and relax. If we think this process is hard for us the petitioner remember how hard it is on the other end so far away.

I hope everyone hears lots of great news in the coming weeks. I am waiting to see who gets the first RFE out of Vermont that has already had their NOA2 previously approved.

As the beneficiary I can tell you our side of the story is just as hard. You´re right on that one.

As for the number 3 of your comments, that´s what drive us crazy. We all think the same way. It´s just that we don´t know how long will it take. And in this process the waiting is the hardest.

It could be at anytime, including in two, three months..

No one can say for sure.

I think it´s a good thing to call them. It definitely is. They better know we are waiting for it every single day. If nothing else, it will only be the same. So maybe if we call them we´ll get a clear answer sometime. i mean, I feel better to try and find out.

But I do agree with you. Once we get the visa and meet our loved one, we´ll forget about this we´re dealing with now.

I´m still optimistic and will keep checking my status tomorrow.

Your definitely right. I want to check my status by calling every second. Make sure that you use the shortcut instructions to get through to a human being as quickly as possible.

While you are calling, can you check on my case?

Just kidding, I'll check on it myself.

One thing I know for sure is that the Vermont Service Center has many memo's in their office from the boss telling them that this process needs to be done AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Thanks for the reply.

I read people from CSC are getting their RFEs without an update on their online status. Do you think it´s possible that the same thing will happen to us? I honestly don´t understand why we are the only ones waiting for it.

You're not the only ones still waiting - so far only people who filed DIRECTLY at CSC have received RFEs in the mail. No one who was transferred from Nebraska to CA has received a RFE yet as far as we can tell.

But they are getting them without online updates so it's definitely possible that the same will happen for you.

Thanks! :)

Just wanted to know what they are waiting for to start sending the RFEs to the recalled cases.

Maybe they can answer that.

You won't be glad to hear it, but we've decided to wait a little longer and call them next week... I'm sorry.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Guys? Guys!!! This just in:

On June 29, 2006, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 30 days have passed and you have not received the notice. Please contact the service center where you submitted your application during business hours.

I guess Vermont is sending out RFE's to everyone! Yay!

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
