My fiance's visa was approved...and the morning after the military overthrew the government, no less - wow! He said that there was no one on the streets but that the embassy was packed. We're hoping when he leaves next week that there won't be any problems trying to leave the country. Thanks for all the advice and support - couldn't have gone through all of the IMBRA "stuff" w/out it!

Hey, just wanted to let you all know that I checked the Visa Interview Appointments website just now for my fiancee's Philippines K1 interview and it appeared! It's November 2. I mention this only because I'm a recalled IMBRA petition and I believe mine is the first to receive word from the Manila embassy... although hopefully I'm not the only one now!

Sorry to hear that. I got a letter from NVC saying that my petition was sent overseas the first week of September but the consulate emailed me back a couple of days ago and said they didnt have it. Where is the file? I think they have it on someone's desk but that person is busy picking their noses.

Our file was mailed on August 7th, that's been confirmed a number of times now... they thought that it was accidentally sent to Manila, but since they still don't have it well over a month later, they have no idea what happened to it. Very very frustrating.

americanwoman: congrats! It must feel wonderful!

cdngirl: Wow. I'm so sorry to hear that. So what happens now? Can't they issue another packet or something? Do you actually have to wait for them to find the packet? Gee! And we thought IMBRA was a nightmare.
