I don't know if ours was just unique, but my fiance received her invitation letter today and the case number had changed.

We were initially approved back at the end of April and I received the letter from the NVC forwarding our case to the Embassy, but then our petition was recalled due to IMBRA. We were re-approved August 4 and NVC again forwarded it back to the Embassy on August 10. I never received a 2nd letter from the NVC.

For the last several weeks I tried calling the Embassy (waste of time), State Department and emailing the Embassy, but the only way I could get any information was via email. Last week I received an email that our interview was scheduled for October 24. All my communications during this time were with the case number I had received back in May.

Today my fiance received the invitation letter and the case number was different.

Like I said, this may be a unique situation, but I just wanted to give people a heads up.

Thanks so much for the heads up. We are in the same situation as you with about the same approval dates. This could mean we may already have an interview scheduled. Do you have any advice on how to obtain our new case number? Since my fiance is registered at her parents house, she may not get the mail from the embassy very soon. Also, mail to her parents hose comes slow.

I'd guess you can obtain the new case number (if they have assigned a new one) by contacting NVC and giving them your NOA1 number. If you call them, talk to a live operator.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

I've misplaced the NVC number and can't seem to find it on the web site. Does anyone have it?

OH MY!! My fiance called me on Friday to say that the Bangkok embassy called him to ask if he could come in for an interview on Wed. (the 20th). They said that they were calling because there wasn't time to send him a letter/packet 4. I'm excited but also worried about the legitimacy of it all...it wouldn't be unheard of for the embassy/govt to do this, right? If all goes well, he'll be here next week! i can't believe it!

hi, quick question, when you check online about the imbra return, does it actually sayImbra RFE or it only show the most recent updatre and assume it is the visa received??

thanks

No,it only will say that they sent out a request for some additional information. this doesnt make it IMBRA, it could just be a regular RFE. The online system will not specify this. Hope I helped!
