I wonder why some consulates are saying come anytime while others are saying in a month? whats the deal with that? I 'm nervous now

Ciudad Juarez doesn't schedule interviews. They work with a walk-in system. When you're ready, you go have the interview. In Brazil, we have to wait for them to schedule an appointment, thus the waiting period for me.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Well, Mexico has always had that policy with fiancee visas, I don't know about the others. It does appear that most consulates dealing with this next step so far are trying to get it done quickly.

Beat me to it, Mew! :P

Heh heh. Lewis, I'm glad that you'll get to be with your fiance really, really soon. There's no beating you with the walk-in system in Ciudad Juarez!

Thanks, and I'm happy for you too, before you know it September will be here. August has turned out to be a turning point for some of us. May the rest of this month bring more good news for us all.

The Moscow Embassy schedules the interviews 2+ months out. Last time I looked they had interviews scheduled through the 2nd week in October. So our interview won't be for at least another 2 months.

Fortunately, I just returned from holiday with my fiance 2 weeks ago so I'm not complaining (at least not yet).

please, no congrats. not until we have the f**king visa.

{big sigh}

Yeah, I hear you. Like you, I'm a little leary, having been burned badly and still trying to recover. BTW, the immi specialist in my congressman's office called this morning to say NVC received my reaffirmed petition yesterday in a box with other recalls from CSC. I've been holding back on a full bore jumping for joy reaction because I am a bit jaded now, and because I don't actually have anything in writing yet from CSC - no email, no letter, no online update. But my congressman's guy assured me he spoke with liasons at both CSC (yes, case has been reapproved and sent to NVC), and at NVC (yes, case received in a shipment from CSC yesterday). I just want something in writing I can hold in my hot little hand. Of course, I don't know why I'm so hung up on that. I had one before, and a lot of good it did then. But anyway, let's hope NVC gets our files back to Paris avec toute vitesse, n'est-ce-pas?

Hi All,

Question for the approved cases - have you received the NVC letter like with the first approval?

Thanks!

And I hope to see many, many, many approvals this week.

My case was received by the NVC from USCIS on 8/7 and to date I have not received anything in the mail from NVC. However, today the consulate confirmed they received the case from NVC. So, it was indeed received by NVC and forwarded on the same day. However note that just because it may say in NVC's records that it was forwarded on for example Monday... they group the petitions and may wait until later in the week to actually send them (via DHL) all on to the respective consulates.

my fiance phoned the london embassy today to change his address (he's moving in with his sister for the last month or so) and they told him that they have everything and are just waiting until his turn comes up to schedule an interview. it sounded great to me, but i phoned the NVC just to check and the woman told me that they sent the petition out on the 10th! excellent, and back on track! i'm just happy that this whole thing only added a few weeks to our process instead of the dreaded months and months. here's hoping we get an interview soon!

Fortunately, I just returned from holiday with my fiance 2 weeks ago so I'm not complaining (at least not yet).

I just wanted to say that I have much respect for the people in our group. We've been through a lot - a very dark period, but now at least for all of us the finish line is in sight. I feel like I'm part of a championship team here.

My RFE is back at Vermont, at least according to USPS.

And Jello, start emailing the US Embassy in Moscow now. Let them know it's coming. I think and hope your speculation on 2+ months is overstated in our case. And my intel is at least as good as yours. :)

Yep, and we should all throw a gigantic party at the end of the finish line! It really does feel like "mission impossible" to get your loved ones here. All these super spy-like investigations being made just to find when and where our petitions shipped...haha

My baby still cant believe that I was able to track the petition going to the embassy

I'm not even talking about the multitude of information all of us collected from numerous "top-secret" sources!! My congressman representative still hasn't called me

Awwww, you guys... Yes, it's amazing what we've been through and it seemed impossible to sort the mess out and that things would actually get on track. I guess in the end what counts is that we will be soon with the people we love and we will say it was well worth the pain and effort.

I wish I had better news to report - I called the Embassy in Moscow and, I hope it was just some kind of standard answer, but they told me it takes one month from the date the NVC sends the petition to the time that they put it in their system.

I will email them tomorrow and I'm also going to try calling the State Department to see if they give me a better response.

I've heard very few satisfactory stories about the Moscow call center (the $2/minute one). Put all the details of your case in your email, especially about your cancelled interview date if applicable, put it to the attn of supervisor, and ask them to expedite. And good luck.
