Your comment about a VSC recall/reprocessing deadline by the end of August is interesting, coz last night I called the Manila Visa Call Center to ask if reaffirmed Petitions would be given immediate visa interview date preferences, and Tina said if they receive her Petition back before the end of August, then my fiancee could be scheduled by October 5th coz her approved Petition arrived in Manila on April 5th which is 6 months from October 5th. Anybody make sense out of this time frame requirement? Thanks, Rick

rlt also called the consulate in Rio and they said that once the reapproved petitions get there, they should reschedule the interview for any date they have available to make it as quick as possible.

True.

They can´t reschedule the interview until the case is back to the Consulate, but once they get it, they will be giving us new dates.

I think that procedure should be the same for all of us who had returned packet3 by the time they canceled the process.

It won´t be too long, people.

We just need to keep an eye on this vcs-nvc-consulate bridge.

It´s taking longer than usual, isn´t it?

rlt, this is the response I got from the NVC when I emailed them asking about where my petition was. I emailed them one day after (08/08/06) I received approval. I'm calling the USCIS and NVC tommorow after I make some margaritas. (I'm on a mini-vacation now before school starts again)

Dear Sir or Madam,

Your inquiry indicates the petition has been forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC) for further processing. The NVC has not yet received this petition back from CIS (Citizenship and Immigration Services). The NVC will send further instructions upon receipt of the petition. Please contact CIS to verify the status of this petition. ;)

Thanks, Lewis.

I think calling VSC is the best idea now. They will tell you if/when they mailed the petition to NVC.

Let me know, plz!

Good luck!

My fiance called them the same day I called NVC. At VSC they weren't able to inform whether they had already sent it to NVC. They just said that the recalled petitions would be sent there. Next thing, I called NVC and they told me they'd sent the petition to the consulate the day before. So... I guess VSC, as usual, will he of little help. But it doesn't hurt to try.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

I hate calling VSC, at any time during this process they have never given me any reliable info. that being said, I will be so so happy once the petition is actually out of their hands!

Maybe this touch you got after the second approval means that they've sent it to NVC?

I think it depends on the officer you talk to.

I think they must have a way to know if the petition is still there or not.. Who else would?

But I agree with both of you.

Can´t wait to have the case back..

An automated recorded message system can answer many of these inquiries 24 hours a day, seven days a week (603 334-0700). Operators are available to respond to more difficult inquiries from 7:30 AM to 12:30 AM (EST) Monday through Friday. Status of case information and access to an operator can only be provided by entering your NVC case number or CIS receipt number on a touch-tone telephone. Case inquiries can also be made via email at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. NVC only has information on petitions it has received.

Wow, finally got a rude VSC person. She basically admitted there was no way they could tell me where or when my approved recalled petition would be sent to NVC and told me to stop calling so much. Funny, the NVC actually recommended calling the USCIS in the email I received from the NVC. She actually was ignorant of the fact that the recalled cases will have the same NVC case number also. I was glad to be of service to her. I'm praying for the USCIS to get out of the picture at this point, it is utterly disgusting.

OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just spoke with the friendly people at NVC, my petition arrived there today and it will also be sent on to the consulate today! So, basically it was 4 days from USCIS-NVC. The person on the line was very polite and helpful, as most people who work for our government should be.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

rlt, that probably means yours is also moving soon!

The reason people at the NVC are so polite is because they are not government workers.

If I'm not mistaken, the NVC is actually operated and managed by a company called SI International. As I recall, SI International was contracted by the State Department to operate and manage the NVC.
