So, the notice says...

"On July 25, 2006, we mailed a notice reaffirming the approval of this case, and returned the case to the Department of State for visa processing. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Department of State.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please contact the National Customer Service Center."

What do you guys think it means? DoS will handle the mailing or NVC?

SUPER!!!! FANTASTIQUE!!!! That message is kinda weird. I just looked at my original NOA2, and it says "...we have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Viosa Center (NVC), 32 rochester Avenue, Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909. The INS has completed all action, further inquiries should be directed to the NVC."

Your notice seems to indicate questions about your case should still be directed to USCIS???? Bizarre.

Anyway, GREAT NEWS, MAN!!!! They are actually looking at the recalls (at least in VSC).

More good news!!

Our case was re-opened yesterday and I got the mail today. I think this is a breakthrough for the MIA's! I really hope so! Hope being a word that has been absent from my vocab for awhile....Good luck to everyone!

Mew, I think your petition is going to the NVC.

They are probably part of the DoS and that´s what the notice means.

I also think it´s great news because VSC is not mailing it to the Consulates and we won´t have any surprise...

Just getting things back to normal. It´s all I wanted.

Is there anyone left who like us has not been touched or notfied of anything since the interview cancellation?

Yep: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22563

There are a few others on the list but we haven't heard from any of them. I'm trying to determine if I should worry that I was somehow lost in the system. It now seems that everyone we heard from is seeing action. I truly am happy for all of you but this is only making me worry more.

I did get a little piece of info which I didn't relate until now - and it may affect you miles. My fiance got word from the Embassy in Moscow that there were 42 recalled petitions in the diplomatic pouch sent back to NVC. I can only guess that all 42 of us were lost and not just me. Therefore I would suggest you follow the instructions I laid out in my "MIA post" I started. Start by contacting the Embassy at ConsulMo@state.gov and NVC by email at NVCInquiry@state.gov today if you haven't, then go through my other steps if that brings you no by Monday.

Ok, so Mew's petition took 14 days to process (the minimum stated on the RFE). If Vermont holds true to it's previous efficiency, we should start seeing a bunch of recalled approvals soon.

man, i hope so. maybe the summer isn't shot after all. ending on a high note would be nice, eh?

congrats, Mew. see what you get for being such a diligent forum-chart-updater? :D:thumbs:

What do you guys think it means? DoS will handle the mailing or NVC?

MEW, NVC is the DOS. That is the line between the two Federal Agencies, i.e., USCIS is VSC and NVC is the DOS. They don't communicate with each other very well. But glad u were approved.

I got a hold of someone in the NVC as per cig's recommendations and I got new information about my case finally. I mentioned about the mail I got from the embassy back on the 14th, but haven't heard anything outside of that of my being effected by the IMBRA, also all other e-mails have gone un-answered, and I have multiple investigation reference numbers at the VSC to no avail. ALl I wanted to know is where my case is. She looked for a minute and saw that it was sent on the 19th and recieved on the 21st (they use certified mail) by the VSC. So it is somewhere in there.

You should really do the same. This is new information since last week when I called the DOS/NVC before.

Meh, nothing to see here.

I really think your petitions are getting to VSC. Slowloy, but they are. It still sucks, I know.. but they are not lost.
