I received my IMBRA RFE today in the mail! I am also sending it back today! OK, now going to send Mew a message so the chart can be updated!

American Woman - we were sent RFE's on the same day, I am guessing and hoping you have yours in the mail as well today.

Good for you! I'll update the chart.

Also, americanwoman already got hers in the mail, according to the chart. On 7/22.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

I compiled data on RFE's processing times for us to have an idea of how long it's been taking them to process them. You may want to check it out.

americanwoman - How did you send it back today if I may ask? Overnight, regular, something else? I am just curious since we both had our RFE's sent on the same to us, and we both returned them today.

I used Express Mail from USPS, they told me it will be there by 3pm tomorrow. Just wondering if it will really make any difference from using something chepaer like priority mail. I guess it can't hurt, or if I know the USCIS, maybe they would punish people for returning it so fast, ha.

At this point I don't think it really matters how it is sent. I did USPS priority (2-3 day) with confirmation and saved 10 bucks. It will get there and not be logged in upon arrival anyway. My main concern was for it to not arrive on a Monday or Friday as those are their busiest mail days. But I did send my left pinky finger with it for any possible punishment incurred

Yeah, your probably right. I thought about it for about 5 minutes, but in the end, I just figured, what's ten more bucks!? Oh well, maybe we have the same case worker, so hopefully he/she will process our cases ASAP!

It usually takes 3 to 6 days for them to acknowledge receipt. I say it not to be negative, but so you don't expect good news as early as tomorrow only to end up disappointed. However, I do hope they send you an update really soon :)

Hi rlt and Sleepless in Oregon,

I'm tucking this into this thread for now. I might do a new thread after we have more info. But wanted to let you know now as you have shown interest. Soooo.....

Last Thursday my fiancé turned on his cell phone and viola ! there is a message from the Paris consulate dated July 10. (I could have kicked him for not checking his phone sooner but it's his France number and he wasn't expecting any messages.) A woman, not leaving her name, said our case is still pending in the States because it took 2 months to reunite the case making it a long wait (reeeeaaaaaally) and we should be receiving a form soon (double reeeeaaaaaally).

She then said there may be a way to get married faster and to fax her with a phone number to call him at to discuss it. So we sent off a fax today, hoping to hear this week but knowing we may not get a reply.

Now isn't that bazaar? Why would the consulate call? We were told by Paris in May there were 30 cases being recalled due to the law change. Would they call all of them? Sleepless- you didn't receive a call so I assume not.

What do you guys think about this? I will post any further info when we get some.

Cheers! And may the universe rain rfe's and approvals upon all of us.

Yeah I figured it would be at least 5 days. I just had to overnight it or I would be driving myself crazy for not doing so. It's just sad to think, my Fiancee was planning on arriving this Thursday July 27, of course that was well before IMBRA took over.

That is bizarre indeed! Why would someone from the consulate call and show actual interest on someone's case (heh heh, we're mean, aren't we?). More even that she would suggest that there's a faster way to getting married? Now I'm curious...

Tres bizarre, Americanwoman!!! I asked my Fiance last night if he had herad from the Paris embassy and he said no - and he usually has his cell like strapped to his ear. Maybe I will try to fax the embassy - do you have contact details there? I tried to call them last spring and was charged almost $20 to tallk to a guy in a call center not even located in Paris who knew less than I, and advised that we needed to appear in person at the embassy on Friday afternoons only, to try to get in to talk to a live body. Not convenient, as I live on the other side of the globe, and my fiance at the opposite end of France. Let me know if you find out more!!! Very interesting!!! :hehe: B)
