No reps available when I called today to VSC. I'll be calling tomorrow for sure as I have no word since May and no info on my so-called expedite request. Only empty words and broken plans. Grrr. And I guess I'll try calling DoS if I get more BS.

Sounds like the responses KING GEORGE PROVIDED back in 1776.

Sorry 4 being such a reac'tnly radical ( I grew up in Mr. Jefferson's town) but what's wrong w a protest march parade at VSC at St. Albans ( although I live and work in VA and NC) I have relatives in Montpelier (ALOT OF COUSINS, AUNTS, UNCLES, 2ND AND 3RD COUSINS) that could find us places to stay and we and shown signs that say we miss our love ones....emplyoees we know u are victims too of the mis management of IMBRA (my Rebublican Imm Spec Char IMBRA as such, i.e., miss appication of IMBRA and I vote voted Carter, Clinton and Kerry).. we hear it in your inability to be compassionate when we get thru with our disparging cries for help...we are here to protest mis management of IMMIGRATION per se, and the the disreregard of the Life ACT. WE JUST WANT DEMOCRACY AND TO BE WITH OUR LOVE ONES ASAP.

WHAT WOULD JESUS AND THOMAS JEFFERSON SAY about this radical view??????????????????????????

Troll responses welcomed?

But Please tell me about 2 things with your response: Ur opinion about the benefit or contraindcations of free speech and what makes u think that a stand for democracy now diminishes the quality of ur life and ur ur children and most importantly, ur grandchildren later?????

RHETORIC THAT IS REASONED IS WELCOME AND LOVED.

Don't get me started on the Gov. I come from a family with a very long history of Military service and Law enforcement. I worked for the State of Ct for 2 1/2 years in Law enforcement and had to leave because I did my job and was considered a "Boy Scout". I suffered through my Stepson's 1st tour of Duty in Iraq and have another serving in the Airforce. I suffered when Conn. decided to go with a "No Fault" Divorce system that allowed my X wife to take 1/2 of what I own after raising Her kids to be selfless Civil Servents. I have watched the Law in this country to be made nothing more than a Political Football and a Sham. I had absolutely no respect for Law Breakers before... Now to me, the Law I used to believe in and worked to support is just a joke. Politicians are out of control, they take away certian Civil Liberties while Magnifying others that benefit whoever is lining there pockets.

Now the Gov gets to tell me who I can Marry?

Or at least make it so difficult that it is not worth it to wait?

I am losing my Faith in Western Society, Im tired of the Agenda of the Silent 5th Column.

Call me crazy

Thanks so much for your relpy:

It is understandable, I have fd alot validity in TV stations such as Linktv. org that are pointing out how our democacry is slowly being diminished through corporate take over and the silencing of healthy and different view points over fear of sponsorships. Congress had to recently overide FCC ruling that one corp cd not own all the media in one location. This question is covered in a rd about way on one of the IQ tests given to children so it must be considered st important to smart people. Check out linkTV.org; it is increbible how there is a loss of freedom of speech and knowledge. Once freedom of speech and other constituitional rights such as freedom to associate and to protests are lost, there will be no avenue to regain democracy. Often such rights are scared away from people when disguised and coupled with protection of the public needs such as IMBRA. I am currently re-writing a letter to my congressman who will present this along with his letter to the Sarah Taylor congressional liason for immigration RE my complaint of how we have been treated and we are only guilty of being being in love with someone from across the border. IMBRA isuues could have been addressed so simply and without the degredation of the consitution, by just having a local social service worker check in every 2-3 months (during the 1-2 years during AOS) with the foreign wife to insure that the American Petioner was not abusing her (there is still no evidence that forigen marriages result in more abuse that good ole american to american and in fact the stats point te other way). Giving her the pamphlet again that tells her she can still stay in the promise land if she is in fact being abused shd calm the people that still fear every day that pink elephants will fall out of the sky and land on the foreign vulnerable and we are taliking about the same people that think GOD went on vacation and left then in charge. I think alot of the pro IMBRA females hawkeets are sincere but were possibly mistreated in childhood-that has been my small clinical sample experience with working with them. Simple and effective.....but no.... just like when u had a fight with the kid next door as a child... the adults have to argue it out and fight about it way beyond its' just remedy.

I'm so discouraged...Received the NOA1 on March 16th, the NOA2 on April 18th, my fiance's application was sent back from Bangkok on May 22nd, and since then we've heard nothing. I've called CIS, NVC, VSC, and the DOS and none of them will tell me where the application is nor what's happening with our case. I've contacted my senators and one hasn't responded (I've tried more than once) and the other office said that they're aware of the situation, but there's nothing they can do. No touches, no updates, no letters from CIS or NVC saying the app's been sent back.

I'm so curious - what have people been saying in order to get info from the reps they've spoken to?? I must be doing something wrong because I've been asking the same questions that've been posted here, but, alas, nothing. Sorry to vent - just feeling more disappointed every day...sigh.

bkk-puu-king, i'm in the same boat as you. I've called everyone and they can't tell me anything. Bangkok must have sent your petition and my petition on the same date. I just hope that it doesnt get lost in the paperwork shuffle. my fiance has completed everything in her packet 3 and has returned it to the embassy.

Hi, I've just added two columns to the chart we have at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20652

One for the date when we get the update saying they have the RFE back at the service center, another one for the date when the RFE was approved.

Please keep checking the other thread so we can keep it accurate and updated.

Also, just to remind you, follow NOA1 date order if you are not there yet when you fill it out.

Thanks!

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Just here venting. Again. Our case still hasn't been reopened. I called the VSC yesterday and was told that our case was in the right department it just hadn't been looked at yet. #######? I said, thanks and hung up. What I wanted to say was:

ARE YOU F'ING KIDDING ME?! I MAILED THAT DAMN PETITION IN OVER FOUR MONTHS AGO. THIS IS COMPLETE AND UTTER ####### AND I'M STAYING ON THIS PHONE UNTIL SOMEONE LOOKS AT THE F'ING THING AND SENDS ME AN RFE. IT'S ONE FORM PEOPLE! HOW HARD CAN IT POSSIBLY BE???????????

My fiance is coming to visit on Thursday. We're having our "non-legal committment ceremony" (ie. wedding without the marriage liscence) a week from Sunday and I can't even get that excited because this whole fiasco is crowding tainting my mind. Even though I get to spend two weeks with him and have a wonderful and special celebration - I know that he has to return to England again.

He was supposed to be moving here for good this time. I just moved into "our" apartment last weekend and although it's wonderful, it feels incomplete. *sigh* I'm trying to look on the brightside but seriously, I'm beyond fed up at this point. It's simply not fair.

Called VSC at 4:45 today and no reps available. Decided to speak with NVC who tells me that the Embassy must have sent my petition back to Vermont directly. I guess I'll try earlier tomorrow, sigh.

Here's one to file under chutzpah:

Called vermont yesterday, asked, "Have you received my petition? NVC said that my petition was mailed to to Vermont on June 27th."

Vermont: "Yes, we received in June 5th."

Me: "You mean July 5th."

Vermont: "No, June 5th."

Me: "Well, what have you been doing with it since June 5th then?"

Vermont: Pause. "It is with a caseworker, you should hear something in the next week."

The hits just keep on coming. Finally got my expedite request response. Not only was I denied, they have no evidence of having recieved the back from the consulate to process it for IMBRA. I will call VSC and make sure they have their facts straight and it's the PETITION and not just my FILE they have in Vermont, and then probably call DoS. Then I will probably draft a letter to the USCIS Ombusman. AFter that I will look for a wall to punch. harumph.

So...a woman at the VSC told me yesterday that there were about 1000 recalled cases (which we know), but that 300 of them have been MISPLACED and will take longer than the rest. The 700 or so are being sent RFEs and then they're going to work on the rest. Sheesh...

I contacted the embassy to see when and where exactly they sent the petition back to and they said that they were sent back through the APO system to a mailroom in DC where they were to be sorted, sent to NVC, and then on to the service center that handled it in the first place (well, either VT or CA as we know). I'm wondering if other people who are dealing with Thailand are in the same boat...t&s, our petitions probably were returned from BKK at the same time. Ridiculous.

My fiance was at the same point in the process as yours, too - had submitted packet 3 and waiting for packet 4.
