hey rick2000 and madison man -

you're both phillipines and both aren't reopened yet. do either of you know if your case has been sent back yet? seems very stange you're not reopened yet.....

Thanks for your observation; maybe slow in returning from Manila? Told by DOS in mid June it arrived at NVC on May 29th. Just called the VSC and spoke to Frank and he said file arrived at VSC on June 22. As per other posters, cd be several reasons why not re-opened yet, e.g., trouble matching stored file with what was returned. I have complained to my Congressman and met their office immigration specialist y'day (turns out his office is 100 yards from mine and after our meeting I called the Congressman's main office and paid a big compliment to what the spacialist had done so far). The specialist told me he had called DOS yday am and the congressional liason at USCIS yday and was waiting on a return call from USCIS. I explained the gists of what was happening to all of us, e.g., delayed and changed marriage plans, cancelled airline tickets, being treated like mushrooms (kept in the dark and fed decaying organic matter), ? about IMBRA legality, reversed RFEs time wise, THE DISTRESS from being separated from our loved ones, how the RFEs could have been sent out from the embassies and he added the questions could have been done at the time of the interview if the Petitioner was there too. He reported the DOS is upset with the USCIS because they will be inundated with the recalled approved Petitions when they come at them all at one time. He said DOS blamed the USCIS for this mess because they approved Petitions without them being IMBRAlized. I pointed out to him that it was the DOS or NVC that rec'd these Petitions Physically and they had to have known that were not IMBRAlized because they forwarded them to the embassies and because in their memos back in May they said they identified the 1100 non-IMBRALized petitions via puter check (later they changed it to 10,000) and the congressional immigration specialist now says 12,000. This am, I email the specialist and told him still no RFE IMBRA for me and Gina. Just received this email from their office:

The Congressman has decided to send a formal inquiry to the USCIS headquarters regarding your concerns. As soon as the Congressman receives any information he will be in touch with you.

What a mess, I think I will recommend to the Congressman that they should immediately repeal IMBRA, hold hearings and revisit the law when it can be read, debated, understood by all invloved, revised, implemented appropriately etc., PROVIDED THIS SPEEDS EBY TO THEIR LOVED ONES.

YAY! Things *are* moving!

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

One thing I have noticed about the RFE's being sent out, is the fact that maybe they do stuff each enveelope separately, and then send them all out in the mail on one day as a bunch. So everyone that gets the RFE email this week will likely get their RFE in the mail on next week on Wednesday. Those that have received the RFE's in the mail all received them in the mail on the same day, but their RFE email was on different days.

Good Luck to everyone, and I am hoping to hear good news from all of you very soon.

ok, since we are venting in this one......GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I would really like to know one thing;

if Vermont told me they received it back on June 1st, where the hell is it now? Also funny thing is that NVC emailed me back the next day after I spoke to Vermont and told me that they sent back the petition to VSC on June 2. Does that make any sense?

I figured they just sent it and recorded it in their system later or something like that. ANY ideas? Well also why would Vermont say they have it if they dont? Anyway you put it, if it was sent after June 2 to VSC, its still WAY TOO LONG for not even an update on being received or reopened!! I'm stressed and very paranoid about this whole online update, or lack of it in my case. :help:

yup, way too long. have you tried a congressman? they can get on the phone to get answers - helped me find out my case really was back in vermont. you can also try the state dept, 202-663-1225, press 1, then 0 for visa specialist. they actually informed me my case was recalled due to imbra and when it was sent back from paris. AND she was very friendly and compassionate.

I did that back in June, it's absolutely disgusting how they are handling me. I finally got a copy of a letter from them last week that they sent to the embassy in ISRAEL!!!! (asking them whats the status with my petition)What the hell for ??? I don't know. It took them a month to do that, and what they are doing makes absolutely no sense!! I told them the petition was recalled why write to Israel? Why cant they just pick up the phone and call USCIS? I swear I found out more information on my own and through VJ than through them. Plus everytime I tried to call and follow up, the woman in charge at the district office who handles all immigration questions would never talk to me and just avoid me, they would always say the same thing, we will send you something in the mail...and they did, THE MORONS! too bad its nothing helpful to me! They make me so sick, really I dont even want to call them again, the treatment is awful. No one cares :crying:

And I'm really happy for you RLT!!!! you were starting to worry me, really, so thrilled for you

Muito obrigado!!

Really. I needed it. I really did.

Since you are ahead of me in the sending the RFE back, how long is it taking for them to process the RFE?

From the day they get it to the day they send you the "we received the RFE" email?

Also, are people getting approved? I know someone from June got it, but what about the average?

:)
