To everyone coming here and willing to help with compiling info, please go to the new thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20652

where we're not supposed to vent, complain or speculate. Ha! :D

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Alright, so we can organize things a little bit, recap:

Questions, doubts, venting, ranting  , speculation and support to each other belong in this thread. :P

Facts and NOA2ers' data go in the newly started thread.

Now, to answer Rick's question:

(Rick2000 @ Jul 6 2006, 06:10 PM)

As per VSC today our file returned to VSC on June 22 (ret to NVC May 29th). Does anybody have data/insight about how long before reopened, etc.? Thanks Rick2000

So far we haven't been able to see any pattern based on the dates each of us have. Everything still seems pretty random at this time. We can just guess when they'll start working at any given case and be patient.

Here's some speculation-there is no pattern at all between the time your petition is physically received back at the service center and the time it takes for your petition to be "reopened".

I think there is a huge variance due to many factors, mainly of which is that the petition has to be reunited with the complete files on your case before being logged back in the system, which could actually be in another distant location.

Yep, some time ago, rlt's fiancee contacted Vermont and here's what he said:

The officer said what takes time is to match the petition they receive back ith something called Alien File. That is what they keep in Vermont for people with approved petitions. That could take a long time.

They told her VSC has already done that to my case, that´s why my status online shows my case as reopened and processing.

Matching the petition with the alien file can take a long time.

that's what happened to mine. 17 days from receiving to reuniting due to being stored in harrisburg.

oops! damn computer - apologies for the multiple posts - so much for decreasing clutter!

HEY THANKS FOR ALL THE INFORMATIVE REPLIES- Rick and Gina

No problem!

So, until now we have 18 NOA2ers in our chart and 7 have gotten RFE updates (3 of them between yesterday and today).

Things seem to be moving... finally.
