Hello everyone!

I am in Canada and married to a US citizen. My wife filed I-130 for me on Dec. 2008 and we received I-797, Notice of Action after two weeks. Does anyone know how long is going to take to get answer from USCIS (approval)? It is almost three months past and I didn't recieved andy answer. According to the webpage they sopuse to enter your name in data base, so you could check it any time you wish, but mine doesn't show when I enter my recipt numbe. Please if anyone knows about this let me know! Thanks

It is not unusual to have this problem with the internet update system with USCIS. It just isn't reliable. Being unable to log in is not a sign of any problem with your case. As regards the time it's taking to get the NOA2, wait another month and then contact USCIS.

It can take up to 6 months before the NOA2 is issued.. I wouldn't advice to call earlier as they can't and will not do anything for you then. (and I have to say that I find it weird that so many people nowadays call with 4 months while they all know nothing can be done then anyways).

N400 Timeline:

12/27/11 - Received NOA

02/06/12 - Received yellow letter (pre-interview case file review)

03/13/12 - Placed in line for interview scheduling (3 yr anniversary)

03/17/12 - Received interview letter
