Click on Embassy Info and find the US Embassy in Moscow website. You need to go to a DHL office or maybe other places where they will list and prepay and obtain a blank DHL mailing envelope. You bring this prepaid envelope to the interview so that when you are approved, they will mail your Visa documents in this prepaid envelope.

In accordance with the immigrant visa process you need to go to one of the DHL offices (see the list below) before the interview, to pay for the visa delivery. Please tell the cashier the applicant's name and case number starting with MOS. Information about the DHL offices can be obtained at the following address:

Moscow, 8 Marta street, 14

Phone (495) 956-1000 (Customer Service Department)

DHL International

You must bring the DHL airwaybill to the interview.

Consular Section of the US Embassy will send your visa to a DHL courier in 2-3 days after your visa has been approved. After that your visa will be delivered to the address you provided, but only within the CIS. Please make sure you provide the correct address for visa delivery.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

You need to pre-pay at a DHL office for the Embassy to send you your passport with the visa. You need to bring that with you at your interview. Do you have everything else?

Fortunately there is a DHL office very close to the embassy, same side of the street about 1 block away at the corner where you would turn to go to the zoo. I am not sure what time they open, but......

They will know exactly what you need.

can we get one after the interview and go back? #######.....help

Yes, it shouldn't be a problem. They might not be happy with you at the embassy, but it won't have anything to do with getting approved for the visa. Just means that after the interview is finished a quick trip down the block to pay and pick it up.

The person who asked the original question has been directed in what to do. The above answer is a common answer I see here by a person who has the best of intentions, but without full knowledge of the individual requirements for a specific country. In this case the requirement to provide a prepaid DHL airbill for the visa to be sent to the beneficiary. There was no mention of missing forms, or lack of documents sent by the fiance.

Unfortunately this well intentioned response could have been avoided if the original question had been posted in the this forum:

In addition if the topic starter had bothered to do any simple search, such as DHL, they would have been rewarded with many topics that have already discussed this issue.

I would strongly suggest people first look in their regional discussion area and 9 out of 10 times they will find out what they are looking for faster. In this particular case the first item after a search of DHL is the pinned topic: Russia Specific FAQ. This topic provides a wealth of information for someone who lives in RUSSIA.

I don't want to say people should not ask questions. But, questions can be more efficient and replies more accurate if people spend a few moments searching first instead of just asking first. In the long run I feel this approach is also quicker for the person with the questions to find the answers.
