Which seminar does my fiancee attend?

My fiancee received her K1 visa last week from the embassy. Now all she needs to do is attend a seminar. After reading different discussions here it is confusing which seminar she should attend. The PDOS or the counseling session? Does it matter which seminar she attends? She registered online for the PDOS, so I hope this is the correct seminar. Thanks.

K1 attend CFO

Recomend going to St. Marys location rather than PRISM location

Takes about 2 hours, no appt needed, bring all paperwork she took to USEM.

Easier, and less hassle....................

 and be sure that your fiancee knows your middle name and your parent's middle names as it will be asked to her. And don't ask me why they ask that as I don't know the reason.

Does that mean the CFO website is incorrect? It does not say anything about bringing paperwork from embassy interview to seminar. Does she really need this? I hope she still has everything. Thanks.

NO! The beneficiary doesn't need to bring ALL her paperwork. Just follow what CFO's website says or you can call their office to make sure on what you need to bring.

Bring all that she took to the embassy interview. My fiancee was asked for a copy of my divorce decree. If I had not told her to bring everything she took to the embassy interview she would not have received her CFO stamp. Also they ask questions and there is a one on one interview. Now this is how they do it at the Taft Avenue place (PRISM) I highly recommend you have her go to the Quezon City place for the seminar. At Taft Avenue they only give the seminar and then send you to another location to get the stamp. It took from 9am to 4:30pm to complete. I was there with her and it was a very long frustrating day because we did not know not to go to Taft Avenue. Also I was not allowed to enter the place with her at either location. Be prepared or she will not get the CFO stamp. The interviewer at Taft Avenue repeated and repeated to my finacee "Why did your BF get a divorce" The interviewer would not accept my fiancee's response for many times and finally did. In my opinion going to Taft Avenue would be a mistake. At the Quezon City CFO you get the seminar and stamp all there and I read no problems like at Taft Avenue. Good Luck.

Thanks everyone for the info. I will send my fiancee to the St. Mary's location in Quezon City. Sounds like she does NOT need an appointment. And I will hope she has enough documents with her. One more question. So, if she attends this counseling session and gets her stamp, does this mean she DOES NOT need to attend the Pre Departure Orientation Seminar which is also offered by CFO? Thanks.

No need for the PDO. It's included in the CFO seminar at St. Mary's for pre-departure procedures, etc. Refer to my signature of you want to see a reference for the CFO.

Hope this helps.

Yes that helps. I read your experience at SMEF. Will there be a problem if she does not have all the documents they requested? And, will she need a letter from her parents if she is only 21? Thanks.

If she does not have all the documents, she'll have to come back to submit all the remaining docs. That would be it.
