the packet 3 is when the embassy sends you the check of paperworks you have to assemble. and the packet 4, is the letter for interview at the embassy.

good visa journey.

moving to:

US Embassy and Consulate General Discussion

You are almost there and now you have to deal with the embassy. This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.

YMMV

Packet 3 is forms and instructions for the interview. It IS important. You can usually download it from your consulate website. Packet 4 is a confirmation letter of your interview, usually with an "invitation number" It is usually NOT important. They will give you your invitation number on the phone when you make the interview. Write it down. This letter also, normally, gives the location of the consulate, when to arrive for your interview, yada, yada. You will already know this. We downloaded packet 3 and never got packet 4. Made no difference
