Wow Charles! right around the corner huh?! Happy Sunday all! I've been so busy- I can hardly find time to get online these days! Only reason I made it today is because I told hubby I HAD to have the computer so I can work on the kiddos preschool scrapbooks! He reluctantly said "ok  " and I squeezed in a quick visit to check in with all my mena friends!

Lots has been going on in my absence it looks like! Found more groupies from the looks of it- that's GREAT! I'll try to catch up as I can with all the gossip... and hard work that's going on with everyone else!

hubby got his green card Friday-- it has an error- I called USCIS to find out what we had to do to fix it... they said print off form I-90 and fill it out... then send it witht he fees(if its our fault=UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS) and they will send a new card after the case has again been reviewed!---UGH! Well, we'll deal with it and manage thru it- at least he's here while we have this issue, and not worried that it is going to affect his immigration or slow things down anymore! Those days of worry are OVER!!!

Hey Jax! Hope you're still hangin in there! And to everyone else as well! Take care adn we'll be seein' ya!--Amy

I'm looking out the window at the snow storm outside knowing I'm missing my chance to edit my news package today but I'm accepting of that fact. I didn't want to trek through that cold misery anyways. Plus the guy that was going to switch editing bays with me is having trouble with the other one so he needed the same one as I needed and we both can't occupy the same space at the same time. Thus I sit here doing pre-production and actually tapping out my script and what video I'm going to put to what sound bites and voice overs. Writing this story instead of letting the story tell itself is a fine line to be walking I must say. With the pieces I've collected and researched I have to link it all together and there is a lot of material to cover. I'm kind of happy one girl took a hit and didn't have any material that was good for her package and so I'm getting the extra 3 minutes to fill. But what that means is I have to take my completely pre-produced product and whip it out early tomorrow in the editing room because we're shooting the thing at 12:30 pm in the studio.

Anyways I'm going to start some laundry here and finish up the audio for my package and if I complete the recordings in time I'll get ready for the film at the Kenworthy tonight. If I don't get it done in time then I'll try to get it done before the movie finishes so I can step inside and catch some of it. I've got to get to bed early tonight to get up early and fresh for tomorrow because Monday is my only change to get all the other things that I need done finished because I've got other deadlines.

I had this weird dream before I woke up this morning. I dreamt Gro Harlem the former prime minister of Norway was in town and she was staying at my shanty of a place with me but she was real cool about it and real nice and reminded me of my good friend, Ingvill who is also from Norway. We had a nice time and then it turned out I had to go pick up more Borah Symposium people and the others were getting mad at me for picking up all the guest speakers before they could reach them but I was just trying to be helpful thinking no one could get them. Funny dreams when the Borah Symposium is on your mind. :P

It's a lovely 70 degree day here in Houston. A bit cool for us, but it's lovely out.

I think husbands (and wives too) can share what they are feeling without being too much. It's OK to say how you are feeling, but just don't go on and on about it and whine. That will definitely bring the other person down. Just say it so that the other one is aware if you are in a bad mood and isn't wondering what's going on and then drop it.

we spent the day picnicing and looking at wildflowers in the mountains and by the lake :) It was SO nice to be out in the sunshine and fresh air and the kids were super happy. I took some great pics, I'll post a couple when I upload them from the computer. All you snow bunnies, take care! I enjoyed some warm breezes for you today :P

After the film, Triage, ended Jose Teruel asked me what did I think. I stumbled over my words only getting out "wow" I hadn't seen the film before but this was..well I read the reviews.

I can't even remember if I finished that because my mind was distracted by the disturbing mental images of the famine in Somalia. 800 people died a day and Doctors Without Boarders was the only ones there. 40% were adults and 70% were children under the age of 5. Then the description of the woman who had been slowly tortured and raped in the Genocide in Rwanda really struck a cord that I felt to my human soul. I feel the same disturbance that Dr. Orbinski felt from witnessing Genocide from the filter of a Medical Doctor having to take all humanity off. I think I was in a bit of a state of shock at the intense and extreme desperation of these situations because I've tasted it working at a hospital for eight years. I saw things like he saw things but he really saw the depths of hell on earth.

Also I am reflecting on how we prepared for this for a year and now it will go by in a series of days. In a blink of an eye it will all be over and I am deeply impressed with all the people I have worked with on the committee.
