Hi all. Please, pleease help me! I will have my interview on April 2 and I saw this thread on CENMAR or CENOMAR. I am confused. Me and my husband got married in the US. I have our Certificate of Marriage with me coming from the state where we got married. What is CENMAR? What is CENOMAR? WHat is INDEX of Marriage? Do I need to get them all? I am applying for a CR-1 visa. Would not the Certificate of Marriage from the US suffice for the interview?

Thank you very much!!!

YES CENMAR is very important you should bring it with you during your interview, when you go to NSO fill- up the green form for CENOMAR ,

heres an example of cenmar ----> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=184861&hl=

You need a CENMAR/CENOMAR upon the day of your interview. Too bad, you have to wait for a couple of days to get one. I wish you could have at least found it sooner. Anyways, expect to get a 221g paper from the Embassy after your interview stating that you need to present a CENMAR/CENOMAR printed in security paper.

Wish you luck for your interview! :)

Do I need to register my marriage with the NSO first before getting the CENOMAR? Or just get the CENOMAR without registering my marriage?

Thank you.

I think you dont need to register your marriage there in NSO.... If you are applying for K3 or CR-1 visa, you need CENMAR and if you are applying for K1 visa, you will need CENOMAR. CENMAR means certification marriage and the CENOMAR means certification of no marriage.

I advise you call NSO and ask them if you need to report your marriage in the States. I am not sure if NSO here has records of marriages done abroad unless reported? So, better call.

Thanks fo all your replies.

I just went to the NSO this morning to request for my CENMAR. They told me it will be released on the 7th of April. My interview will be on April 2. I just hope and pray in Jesus' Name that I won't be asked for it on that day.

God bless u all!

Well, please report back whether you really needed the CENMAR or not. It really doesn't make sense to me why you would need such a document if you have the NSO Certificate of Marriage.

Good luck on your interview.

If I didn't have bad luck, I would have no luck at all!

Hi all. Thanks again for your advices and your replies. I just had my interview yesterday and i got approved. they did not ask me for CEMAR or CENOMAR. All they asked for were my wedding photos!

For the sake of those who are yet to have their interview, I suggest that you get one if you can. This is because i read some threads that most of the time/ or some times, they do ask for CENMAR or CENOMAR. It is always better to get ready to avoid delays in case they would ask. But, if you are on eof those who is like me who learned about it 3 days before the interview, don't panic. Pray. Who knows, you might not be asked for your CENMAR, too.
