I've tried the other forum where AOS is the main topic, with no luck getting a response from someone who's been in our shoes. Thought I'd try here. Although I don't recall many in our shib shibs here either...

If you have step children in MENA read on:

Did any of you need your step childrens birth certificates (when the children didn't immigrate with your spouse) for the AOS interview?

It's in the list of required documents that we got... (along with 500 other things... looks like it is supposed to be a list for all seasons/reasons). We never provided the birth certificates for them with any of the K-1 paperwork because they are staying in Egypt with Mom. We gave their names and ages, dob, etc. but no birth certificates.

Lord knows we'd like to have them here someday or at least have visas for them to travel here in the summer, but we aren't ready for that step.

Aymsgirl got lucky and never had an interview so she couldn't tell me... anyone else know? Have any of you gotten tourist visas for your step-kids to visit? I'm so tired from this process I can't begin to think about the work I expect that will take... if it's even possible when H is here, don't know who would help them with all the paper work it would take.
